Ogugua "OG" Anunoby Jr. secured the New York Knicks a historic win in the NBA Finals on June 10, and now he is working on a win for rescue cats, too.
The basketball player recently teamed up with Royal Canin, VCA Animal Hospitals, and Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) to raise awareness about all the wonderful rescue pets waiting to be adopted. As part of his support, Anunoby selected a "Starting 5" out of the cats available for adoption at ACC.
"OG's Starting Five" are five felines hand-picked by Anunoby from ACC, New York City's largest animal shelter system, who are ready to become loyal, furry team members to whoever is lucky enough to adopt them.

"OG has been inspiring New Yorkers all season long, and now he's helping create life-changing moments for shelter pets. We're so grateful he's chosen to use this exciting moment to help cats in need find loving homes," Katy Hansen, ACC's director of communications, said in a statement.
Not only do the cats come with animal lover OG's seal of approval, but all cats from the Starting Five will receive a year's worth of cat food from Royal Canin and a year of free exams from VCA Animal Hospitals once they are adopted.
