Authorities in Oregon are appealing for the public’s help to locate two children who have been missing for nearly a week.
Julian Hawes, 10, and Mahina Hawes, 9, were reported missing from Bend, Oregon on Thursday, July 23, according to local outlets KATU, Bend Bulletin and Central Oregon Daily News, which cited the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) and Child Welfare Division.
While the ODHS has not revealed details surrounding the children’s disappearance, they have emphasized the danger that Julian and Mahina could be in.

Julian is described as having shortly cut blonde hair and green eyes, per KATU. His height is 4 feet, 6 inches tall and he weighs 85 pounds.
Mahina is described as having shoulder-length blonde/sandy brown hair and green eyes. She is 4 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 65 pounds, according to the outlet.
No descriptions have been given for the clothing either child was wearing at the time of their disappearance.
The ODHS said the two children are believed to be either in Bend or Redmond, which is located about 17 miles north of Bend, according to the local outlets.
“Sometimes when a child is missing, they may be in significant danger and ODHS may need to locate them to assess and support their safety,” ODHS said in a statement, per Central Oregon Daily News.

“As ODHS works to do everything it can to find these missing children and assess their safety, media alerts will be issued in some circumstances. Sometimes, in these situations, a child may go missing repeatedly, resulting in more than one media alert for the same child,” they added.
PEOPLE has reached out to the ODHS for comment on Julian and Mahina Hawes’ disappearance.
The ODHS is urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of the children or if they have seen them to contact law enforcement by calling 911.
Authorities also said that child abuse can be reported to the Oregon Child Abuse Hotline by calling 1-855-503-SAFE (7233).
