Heading into the 2026 NBA Draft, Cameron Boozer had the support of his girlfriend, Yva Lauren Cao.
The former Duke Blue Devils basketball player met Cao while they were both in high school in Miami. They went on to attend several dances together before going to different universities in the fall of 2025.
While Boozer committed to Duke to play basketball — alongside his twin brother, Cayden Boozer — Cao chose to attend the University of Miami. She is a member of the university's cheerleading team and is pursuing a degree in public relations.
The couple continue to maintain a long-distance relationship by frequently visiting each other and bonding over being student-athletes. Despite her being a cheerleader for a competing school, Cao has not shied away from supporting her boyfriend and has been present for several of his major milestones.

Cao was raised in Miami by her parents, who are both Cuban, which inspired her to stay connected to her roots and stay in the city, according to the University of Miami Cheer.
Her family founded the Cuban bakery chain Cao Bakery in Miami, which "developed my work ethic" and "my interest in marketing and PR," she wrote on LinkedIn.
Cao attended Our Lady of Lourdes Academy in Miami, where she practiced cheer and earned the prestigious Miami Herald First Team All County. She continued pursuing cheerleading when she joined the University of Miami team in 2025.
Cao frequently posts Instagram photos and TikTok videos about traveling and cheering with her teammates, getting ready for game days and enjoying her days off, as well.
Boozer and Cao started dating in high school

Although Boozer and Cao went to different high schools — with him at Christopher Columbus and her at Our Lady of Lourdes — they both grew up in Miami and started dating in August 2023.
Cao celebrated their first anniversary on Aug. 26, 2024, by posting several sweet pictures and writing, "A year with my favorite blessing."
The couple attended several proms and homecoming dances together before their last one in May 2025.
She's supported him at Duke and has made custom merch for him

Even though Cao proudly represents her own school, she's made a concerted effort to express her support for her boyfriend.
Ahead of the 2026 March Madness tournament, Cao flew out to surprise Boozer and posted a TikTok showing how she pulled it off.
When she attended Duke's game against Virginia on March 14, she posted a photo on her Instagram Stories where she proudly put her custom merch on display. In the photo, Cao was wearing custom blue Duke boots that had "Boozer" written on them, Sports Illustrated reported at the time.
Cao has also posted TikTok videos of her wearing Boozer's #12 jersey number, a Duke hat and a custom Blue Devil pin on her pants.

Over the last year, she has posted videos of the two getting ready together, participating in wellness trends and traveling for competitions.
