The USA Network series also featured appearances from Todd's older children, Lindsie and Kyle, as well as his mother, Faye Chrisley. The Chrisleys also adopted Kyle's daughter Chloe.
The family put their antics on display for nearly a decade until Todd and Julie's legal problems took center stage. After they began serving their sentences in January 2023, their daughter Savannah worked with various politicians in an attempt to help her parents. On May 27, 2025, President Donald Trump announced that Todd and Julie would be fully pardoned, and they were released from prison the following day.
Todd and Julie's return home from prison was documented in the Lifetime show The Chrisleys: Back to Reality, which aired in September 2025.

Amid the Chrisley's rise to fame on reality TV, Todd and Julie started to face various financial and legal issues. In 2014, the family filed a $45 million bankruptcy case.
Their legal problems escalated five years later in August 2019 when Todd and Julie were indicted for tax evasion, fraud and conspiracy.
Although Todd and Julie vehemently maintained their innocence and pleaded not guilty to the charges, they were ultimately found guilty on all counts in June 2022 and were sentenced to a combined 19 years in federal prison.
While the parents served their respective sentences in separate prisons, Savannah took over guardianship of Grayson and Chloe.

Almost immediately after Todd and Julie were convicted, they appealed their convictions on the basis of alleged misconduct. However, their conviction was upheld in June 2024.
A little over two years after Todd and Julie began their time behind bars, their attorneys formally requested a presidential pardon.
“They believe that the president will seriously consider pardoning both Julie and Todd Chrisley as a result of the unfair treatment they received in the criminal justice system,” one of their lawyers told NBC News at the time.
On May 27, 2025, Trump officially issued a full pardon for both Todd and Julie. The President called Todd and Julie's kids to tell them the news.
"It's a terrible thing, but it's a great thing, because your parents are going to be free and clean," Trump said in the phone call. "I don't know them, but give them my regards and wish them good luck."
White House spokesperson Harrison Fields later said in a statement that Trump is "always pleased to give well-deserving Americans a second chance, especially those who have been unfairly targeted and overly prosecuted by an unjust justice system."
Members of the Chrisley family immediately flew to retrieve Julie and Todd, and they were both released the next day. Two days later, Savannah and Todd held a press conference during which he thanked "every person that has prayed for us and stayed in the fight and that fought for the truth to come out."
