It's time to grab the bull by the horns because Six Flags just announced the opening date for its six-time record-breaking roller coaster, Tormenta Rampaging Run.
On Tuesday, officials at Six Flags Over Texas revealed the world's tallest, fastest, longest and first-ever giga (300-400 feet tall) dive coaster will open to the public on Friday, June 26.
Park president Pete Carmichael said in a press release the attraction will “forever change” not only the Arlington, Texas-area skyline, but the entire lineup of thrills at the property.

Tormenta Rampaging Run will elevate guests 309 feet in the air, higher than any other dive coaster in the world. Once at the top, “just like waiting for the release of the bulls,” the ride vehicle will pause for three seconds before a terrifying drop, according to the park's website.
In addition to being the world's tallest, fastest and longest dive coaster, the attraction will hold the record for the tallest vertical loop at 179 feet, the highest beyond-vertical drop at 285 feet, and the highest Immelmann inversion — a fighter jet-like maneuver — at 218 feet.

Featuring a record-breaking 4,199 feet of track, Tormenta Rampaging Run will charge through sharp twists, turns and numerous “airtime” moments at a top speed of 87 mph.
The ride is thematically inspired by Spain's tradition of the running of the bulls. It will be set within Rancho de la Tormenta, a new immersive, themed area styled to look like an old and secluded Spanish village. Vibrant banners will fill the land alongside lively Spanish music.
“The town was initially named after the storms (tormentas) that swept across the plains it occupied, but that soon changed with the birth of the legendary bull that grew to be the most feared and respected animal in the land,” a press release says. “Known for its fierce strength and incredible speed, the bull, nicknamed ‘Tormenta,' came to be a symbol of the town's resilience and might.”
Guests will also find a brand-new restaurant, Cocina Abuela, inspired by Spanish and Latin American cuisine. The menu will include classic dishes like Spanish rice, papas bravas, chicken tinga and house-made guacamole.

Tormenta Rampaging Run was first announced in September 2025. By January, crews reached new heights in the track's construction. In late May, the ride began its testing phase and the first footage of the attraction in action was shared with PEOPLE.
The June 26 opening will coincide with Six Flags Over Texas' 65th anniversary. The milestone celebration will feature new entertainment and food and beverage options, ride enhancements, park improvement initiatives and more.
