Simone Biles revealed that she recently faced a terrifying health scare.
On Saturday, June 6, the gymnastics star, 29, shared a photo of her arm covered in patient wristbands from the hospital while explaining that she has been “in bed resting this week” after experiencing one of the worst health scares of her life.
“I'm not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today's age,” Biles wrote on her Instagram Stories. “But almost dying wasn't on my bingo card earlier this week.”
“This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life. Especially since Jonathan [Owens] was in Indy for practices," she continued.

Owens, who married Biles in April 2023, signed a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts in March 2026. At the time, Biles said she was “excited to call Indy home” during the upcoming football season.
“I've been in bed resting this week, I'll explain sooner or later but s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers,” Biles continued on her Instagram Stories. “Loooovveeee y'all.”
In the following posts, the Olympic athlete shared two photos of flower bouquets sitting on a counter in glass vases as she continues to recover from her near-death experience.
Another snap showed Biles lying in bed with her two dogs alongside a screenshot of her resting heart rate and the caption, “I'll be here.”

Biles' post about her health scare comes just two days after she gave her 11 million followers a look into her bedroom and outdoor kitchen at her custom-built Texas mansion while hinting that she was following the doctor's orders by enjoying some rest and relaxation.
"Breakfast in bed. Just what the doctor ordered," she wrote over a photo of herself holding a plate of eggs, toast and sausage in bed.
One day before that, she put her gymnastics on full display by sharing a rare video of herself performing stunts in a red bikini amid her break from the sport.
Alongside a video of herself performing a series of flips on her massive in-ground trampoline with fellow gymnast Zoe Miller, Biles wrote, "Summer nights playing stick it ❤️🌹💃🏾🍓."
