Latifah is in her TV personality era at the moment, as she's also set to host the 2026 American Music Awards live from Las Vegas on May 25.
While fans might associate Latifah with hip-hop and R&B music, she told Clarkson, 44, in a 2020 interview on the "Since U Been Gone" singer's talk show that she's a fan of country music and shouted out Charlie Daniels' "The Devil Went Down to Georgia."
"Really that was kind of a rap record, if you think about it," said Latifah at the time. "That was like a country rap record. I was like, 'Wait a minute. You know, this is dope.'"
The Last Holiday star also praised Florida Georgia Line for blending genres with their music and added, "I think country music is really leaning into so many other genres now. I think it's pulling from a little hip hop, it's pulling from a little R&B, maybe."
Another star making his The Voice debut this upcoming season is Green, 37, whose inclusion on the panel was announced over the weekend. "I guess y’all can start calling me coach… see ya this fall," wrote the country star on Instagram.

Season 30 will mark Clarkson's 10th as a coach on The Voice and Levine's 18th. The Maroon 5 frontman, 47, recently told PEOPLE he's been "having so much fun" on the hit singing competition series. "Since I came back a few seasons ago it's just been a blast and I'm super happy to keep it going as long as they'll have me."
Levine wrapped season 29 on a high last month, as his contestant Alexia Jayy won The Voice: Battle of Champions. "She's one of the best singers I've ever heard sing, ever," he told PEOPLE of her win. "I've been wrong before but I really believed that she was gonna win this thing."
