Hayley Thornton didn't think there would be any issues when she had her mom take her kids to school last month.
What the mom of three didn't know, however, was that it was her daughter Olivia's class picture day — and her grandma didn't exactly put her in the perfect shirt for the occasion.
"This was a picture retake day and I hadn’t written it on my calendar as I completely missed that email," Thornton tells PEOPLE. "Last minute, I needed my mom to get the kids for me and take them to school, not realizing I didn’t send any clothes with my mom, so she had to use what she had at her house at the time."
In a now-viral TikTok, Thornton shared the results of the picture day fiasco, in which her daughter can be seen posing for her class photo front and center in a shirt that reads "On My Mom's Last Nerve."

"When you forget it's class picture day and this is the shirt your daughter is sent in," Thornton hilariously wrote over the photo. "Like they couldn't of put her in the back row ☠️."
"I know all the moms are talking about me and wondering why I’m such a POS 😂😂😂😂😂☠️☠️☠️," she captioned the clip, which zooms on Olivia, proudly smiling while wearing the funny T-shirt.

Thornton tells PEOPLE that the T-shirt is actually Olivia's brother Quinton's, so she doesn't often wear it. "But of course this is the one day it's put on her," laughs the mom of three, who shares her kids with husband Matthew.
"When I first saw the picture, I was cracking up in disbelief," Thornton admits. "I thought back to when my mom took her to school for me, and she let me know that morning she put that shirt on her as it was all she had at the time, and I then put two and two together that it was also the same day as class picture day."

"I immediately went to go see when class picture day was, only to realize it was rescheduled to this date, and I apparently missed that email," she adds.
Thornton, who calls her daughter Olivia a "burst of energy" and "super silly," says she wanted to share the video because she hoped it would resonate with other parents.
"It’s such a parent fail moment, but one I can find a lot of humor in!"
