Nine couples scored a home run wedding with the Durham Bulls!
The North Carolina-based minor league team joined forces with local radio station MIX 101.5 to host "9 weddings in 9 innings" on Wednesday, May 20, against the backdrop of the home team's game against the Nashville Sounds.
More than 3,700 spectators unknowingly became witnesses to the nine couples' ceremonies, which were either weddings or vow renewals. The whimsical weddings fueled a vibrant energy at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, despite the home team's 10-2 loss.

"Congrats to our 9 Weddings, 9 Innings couples! 💍💐🫶🥹," the Bulls and the radio station shared in a joint Instagram post after the game. "The DBAP made a great backdrop for your best day ever!"
In another shared post, the minor league team and MIX 101.5 shared a video set to an organ rendition of "Here Comes the Bride." Some brides wore traditional white wedding dresses, while another simply donned a "Just Married (Again)" T-shirt and a mini bridal veil.
Beneath the lights of the Athletic Park, on the field or in the stands, the nine couples pledged their love to each other. The officiant in the video — one of three from MIX 101.5, per WRAL — emphatically shouted, multiple times, "Kiss your bride!"
One couple even celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their Durham Bulls ceremony, WRAL reported. "We love love," the Bulls and the radio station added in their second post.

The nine-inning nuptials were the second such celebration at Durham Bulls Athletic Park — the radio station and the home team hosted the inaugural "9 weddings in 9 innings" event last year in August.
"At first, I was like, 'Oh my God, you're crazy,'" bride Tori Raeihle told WRAL at the event last year. However, she said, "It fits us. He's played baseball his whole life, and it's definitely the opportunity of a lifetime."
