The cast of Gilmore Girls is being roasted for their “millennial pauses” in videos made on the platform Cameo.
Cameo took to Instagram to round up some of the videos the cast has recorded for fans, adding the caption, “Millennial pauses on Cameo, Gilmore girls edition but we knows it rlly just them letting us sink in their aura.”
The “millennial pause” is the viral term for a one-to-two-second hesitation millennials often make at the start of a video, after they press record and before they begin to speak.
The move has been labeled “cringe” by members of Gen Z, who tend to speak with no hesitation when filming a video.

The show premiered on Oct. 5, 2000, and followed the mother-daughter duo of Lorelai Gilmore, played by Lauren Graham, and Rory, played by Alexis Bledel, as they navigated life and romance in the fictional Stars Hollow.
The beloved show also starred other actors, such as Scott Patterson, Milo Ventimiglia, Jared Padalecki and Matt Czuchry.
In the Cameo video, stars Patterson, Emily Kuroda, Max Medina, Rose Abdoo, Yanic Truesdale and Michael Winters can be seen recording videos that all begin with lengthy pauses before they start speaking.

Instagram users quickly weighed in in the comments, with one writing of the cast, “LET THEM BE!!!!”

A documentary about the show will soon be released on HBO Max, the streamer announced on Wednesday, Aug. 5. The still-untitled documentary, which comes on the heels of the hit WB show’s 25th anniversary, will be directed by Bonni Cohen, whose credits include In Waves and War and Athlete A. Warner Horizon Unscripted Television produced the project.
