Prince Harry spoke about his love for Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as he stepped out in the U.K.
As part of his day out in Birmingham, England, on July 10 to celebrate the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, the Duke of Sussex spoke to Alison Hammond for U.K. show This Morning. In addition to discussing the importance of the adaptive sporting competition, Harry was asked about how his family feels about his work for the service personnel and veterans.
“Honestly, your kids and Meghan must be so proud of you," said Hammond, 51. "Do they tell you every day?”
Prince Harry, 41, replied, “They don’t tell me every day that they’re proud of me. But yeah, I’m proud of them. They’re proud of me."
"I love my family," he added.
Despite announcing that Meghan and the children would return to the U.K. for the first time since 2022, it was revealed over the weekend that the Duchess of Sussex, 44, and their children — Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5 — would not join Harry for the London leg of the trip due to security concerns.
It was reported earlier this week that Harry was “frantically” trying to arrange private security for his wife and children, with Harry and his father, King Charles, hoping to organize a reunion. On July 9, The Telegraph reported that the trio would be joining Harry in the U.K. for the full family’s first visit to England in four years. However, Meghan and the children aren’t expected to make any public appearances.
The family was last in the U.K. together to celebrate the late Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee, marking her 70th year on the throne.

On This Morning, Prince Harry spoke about the inspiration for the Invictus Games, which held their first event in 2014 in London after he was inspired by the United States' Warrior Games.
“That was sport literally rehabilitating the soul and the mind and the body,” he told Hammond. “And I was like, we need to make this thing international.”
During their chat, Prince Harry also made sure to tell the Great British Baking Show host that his children "love" Junior Bake Off.

Next year, Birmingham will welcome over 550 wounded, injured and sick service personnel, veterans and their families from 26 nations. They will compete in 12 adaptive sports to support their recovery and inspire others through their resilience.
To wrap up the one-year-to-go festivities, Prince Harry gave a speech where he said it felt “incredibly special” to have the Invictus Games back in the U.K. again.
“Not just because this is where the Invictus journey first began, but because Britain has always understood the importance of service, resilience, and standing together when it matters most,” Harry said.

The Duke of Sussex joked about how much time has passed since the inaugural Invictus Games: “What has struck me walking around the arena today is just how many faces I recognize from those different groups that were part of that original journey back in 2014,” adding that “some of us have lost our hair.”
