NEED TO KNOW

  • On April 13, 2026, Daniel Radcliffe made an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz
  • During the episode, the 36-year-old actor took on the challenge of ranking all eight Harry Potter films
  • Radcliffe revealed which movie came in first, and which one he considered “bottom of the bracket”

Daniel Radcliffe, best known for his iconic role as Harry Potter, has always been a beloved figure in the world of wizardry. Since his first appearance in 2001's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Radcliffe has captured the hearts of fans worldwide.

In a recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, the 36-year-old actor revealed that he hasn’t watched any of the movies in quite some time.

“When I was 18, I would cringe watching the earlier films. Now, I think the early films are sweet and now I cringe watching myself when I was 18 or 19,” Radcliffe confessed to the host. “But I assume that those dates will just keep changing as to what I find palatable of my own work.”

Nevertheless, the conversation quickly turned into a fun challenge after Horowitz asked Radcliffe to rank his favorite Harry Potter films.

To kick things off, Radcliffe admitted that if he had to choose between 2001’s Sorcerer's Stone and 2002’s Chamber of Secrets, his preference would be the second film.

“I would take Chamber of Secrets out of those two ’cause I love the Basilisk,” he explained, referring to the massive snake-like creature that hid within Hogwarts.

He admitted to enjoying Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) more than the fan-favorite Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004).

“I know everyone wants me to say Azkaban. I know that’s how everyone else feels, but I love the stuff I got to do on the fourth movie; it was awesome. So I’ll say Goblet of Fire,” Radcliffe said.

When asked about his top pick, Radcliffe didn’t hesitate. His favorite Harry Potter film of all time is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, a fitting choice given the emotional climax of the series.

Radcliffe, however, wasn’t shy about revealing his least favorite film either. “Half-Blood Prince is probably the bottom of the bracket for me,” he admitted. “And that’s my own stuff. That’s not the film.”
