Want 2027 to be the year that changes everything?

PEOPLE can exclusively reveal the cover of Yung Pueblo's upcoming book Journey: The Year That Changes Everything, out on Nov. 10 from Harmony Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House.

The daily reflection guide — which is organized around the four elements — helps readers "cultivate greater balance, resilience, freedom and inner peace through daily practice," according to an official synopsis.

"Healing is not a destination: it’s a practice. The greatest change comes from within you. To transform your life, you must go on an inward journey to uncover two of the greatest prizes a human being can have: self-awareness and inner peace," it continues. "Both self-awareness and inner peace emerge from a deep state of balance. This same balance is remarkably expressed in the visible world by the four major elements."

In his new book, Pueblo approaches the elements in a way you likely haven't thought of them before.

Fire is described as "the element of ambition, transformation, energy" that will "help you work through all the anxiousness, uncertainty and doubt that come up as you steel yourself for change." Air is "the element of motion, freedom, self-awareness and skillfulness," that guides you as you move forward.

Earth, "the element of stability, self-care, steadiness and nourishment," is focused on training and putting in the work to transform. Meanwhile, water, "the element of letting go, generosity, adaptability and relationships," is centered on finding balance and newness: new relationships, opportunities and understandings.

While the book doesn't debut until the fall, the poet and New York Times bestselling author of How to Love Better and The Inward Trilogy shared with PEOPLE his top tips for a more peaceful summer, offering advice similar to that featured in Journey. Check them out below:

  1. Don’t adopt the energy of other people. Live in your own energy. Getting caught up in the chaos of other people is stressful. Instead, ground yourself in your own peace.
  2. Surround yourself with people who love to see you thrive. Your closest friends should cheer loudly for your wins. True friends should make you feel seen and heard.
  3. Stop scrolling and start walking. Spending too much time online is draining. One of the most nourishing things you can do is go for a long walk in nature.
  4. Pay attention to how your emotions change. When you are aware of your emotions throughout the day, you are less likely to project them onto other people.
  5. Be kind to yourself when your mood is low. A negative mind will paint everything gray. You can’t see yourself clearly when heavy emotions are blocking your perception.
  6. Maintain a mindset of gratitude. It is easy to get too focused on what’s missing. Bring yourself back to the present moment by feeling gratitude for all the good things in your life.
  7. Let go of the tension in your mind. Heavy emotions love to spin up stories that are not fully true to keep fueling the tension in your mind. Don’t jump to conclusions.
