Even though season 4 of Sullivan's Crossing has come to an end, there's already another season in the works.
The CW drama series stars Morgan Kohan as Maggie Sullivan, a neurosurgeon who returns to her hometown of Sullivan's Crossing and quickly falls for the mysterious Cal Jones (Chad Michael Murray).
Just when things start to go well for Maggie and Cal, their relationship gets completely upended when her secret estranged husband, Liam (Marcus Rosner) shows up at her front door. The revelation stuns Cal, threatening the foundation they've already built — especially considering Liam is trying to win Maggie back.
The series, which is based on the best-selling novel series by Robyn Carr, will continue to follow the ups and downs of Cal and Maggie's romance in season 5. The next installment was officially confirmed in June 2026.

Sullivan's Crossing announced that it had been renewed for season 5 in a June 2026 Instagram video with Murray and Kohan. They shared the news during the Bell Media upfronts on June 4.
"SEASON 5!" the caption read. "We're going back to the Crossing!"
In the video, both Murray and Kohan expressed excitement over their show getting a fifth season.
"Sorry for putting you through the ringer," Kohan joked. "We love you! Please stick around."
Meanwhile, Murray joked that he does "not want to see Liam" in season 5, referring to his character's romantic competition.
"Guys, get ready, because that's what we do," Murray continued. "There's a lot of ups and downs, a lot of trials and tribulations and a lot of tears."

Throughout the fourth season, Maggie and Cal are at a crossroads in their blossoming romance after her ex-husband, Liam, unexpectedly pays her a visit at the Sullivan's Crossing campground. The revelation was a major shock to Cal, since Maggie had not previously informed him that she was married.
Although Liam claims he's only in town to get their annulment papers, he quickly finds himself infiltrating her life and trying to win her back. Although Maggie is stunned to see her ex at her front door, she also acknowledges that she left him after thinking he had abandoned her while she later learns that he was actually held hostage as a war journalist for three years.
Maggie finds herself torn between Liam and Cal, with Liam being a part of her unfinished and rushed past and Cal being her new stable breath of fresh air.
In the season 4 finale, Maggie finally comes to the conclusion that Cal and Sullivan's Crossing is her future, as opposed to an easy escape into her past with Liam. However, Cal isn't totally over her lying to him about her past.
Just when things seem to be lost with the two of them, Maggie makes a career-risking sacrifice by taking the blame for Cal's symbolic younger brother Ben Nelson (Colby Frost) — who is facing prison for endangering his younger sister after their mother abandoned them.
Cal finds out about Maggie's selflessness and realizes that she is more important than the lie she told about her past. The two reconcile, and Cal proposes to her. Just before she can accept, their romantic moment is interrupted when Ben's younger sister, Tracy (Emerson MacNeil), appears at their front door in hopes of them taking her in.
The season ends with Cal and Maggie engaged and accepting the role as Tracy's temporary guardians.
Murray reflected on the emotional moment to PEOPLE and revealed that the show's producers, creators and stars had a "monster debate" over whether or not the sudden proposal sent the right message to the audience.
"That proposal was a monster debate," he revealed. "It was such a large conversation for many, many, many moons with everybody from the top down. I think one of the things for me is I thought it was important that Cal draw a line in the sand because being walked all over is not a good example of how to function in life, period. For anyone — man, woman, doesn't matter who you are."
He continued, "At some point you have to draw a line in the sand and take care of yourself. So Cal did that and we remedied the scenario, but, I mean, there was multiple different versions of that scene to be completely honest, from her being the one to a do it to me being the one. I definitely had a large conversation with a lot of people to make sure that we did our best."
As for season 5, Murray explained that he hopes Cal and Maggie can move past their drama and become one united front going forward.
"I want to see a lot of unity," he said. "I want to see a lot of team play between Cal and Maggie. I want the obstacles to be on the outside of them and for them to take everything on as a team. That's what I want, because I want to see that relationship blossom and be a good example of how people can handle outside influences as a team versus when there's something on the outside."

While the official cast for season 5 of Sullivan's Crossing has not been announced, several core cast members are expected to return — including Kohan and Murray who both expressed their excitement over the season 5 renewal.
Since the season 4 finale ended with the couple agreeing to care for Tracy, it's likely that MacNeil will also return.
The last four seasons also starred Tom Jackson as Frank Cranebear, Andrea Menard as Edna Cranebear and Lindura as Sydney Shandon. In addition to the main cast members, the series has also featured various recurring stars — including Rosner as Liam, Lynda Boyd as Phoebe Lancaster, Allan Hawco as Andrew Eric Matthews, Dakota Taylor as Rafe Vadas, Amalia Williamson as Lola Gunderson, Peter Outerbridge as Walter Lancaster and Lauren Hammersley as Connie Boyle.
Although many core cast members will get to continue their story at the Crossing, original cast member Scott Patterson, who played patriarch Sully, departed the show after season 3 due to "creative differences" that became "untenable," as he explained in a March 2026 Facebook post. Sully was written off the show as moving to Ireland with his girlfriend.
"I just sadly realized that the show was not something that I could agree to continue," Patterson continued, while later adding, "The fans deserved better than to think the embodiment of this character, me, would just disrespect not only the show, but them. In the end, we're all fans of these characters and stories, and I'll always support and defend the truth."
