The action appears to be far from over in Marshals.
Led by Luke Grimes, the Yellowstone spin-off show follows Kayce Dutton as he joins the U.S. Marshals after leaving the Yellowstone Ranch behind.
The series quickly became a hit for CBS, with ratings through the roof and the premiere drawing 20.6 million multiplatform viewers in its first week. Just 12 days later, CBS renewed the series for a second season.

Yes — CBS officially renewed Marshals for season 2 just 12 days after the series premiered in March 2026. The show delivered impressive ratings and quickly became one of the network’s biggest new launches in recent years.
“MARSHALS delivered a breakout performance, capturing a massive audience across platforms and quickly establishing itself as one of TV’s most powerful new series,” said President of CBS Entertainment Amy Reisenbach in a press release.
What will Marshals season 2 be about?

CBS has not released an official synopsis for season 2 yet, but the next chapter will likely continue following Kayce as he balances his new life as a U.S. Marshal and navigates his emotional past.
Season 1 positioned Kayce in Montana, using his military background and ranch instincts to take on dangerous cases while raising Tate and overcoming grief after Monica’s tragic death.
While Marshals has leaned into a procedural format, later episodes began digging deeper into Kayce’s trauma and relationships.
Which cast members are returning for Marshals season 2?

While CBS has not announced the full season 2 cast yet, Grimes is expected to return as Kayce after leading the first season.
Other season 1 cast members who could return include Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton, Kayce’s son, along with Gil Birmingham and Mo Brings Plenty, who both appeared in the first season.
