Cohen clarified on Radio Andy that he paid the bill and gave a tip when the restaurant offered to comp the meal

Shannon Beador is calling out a restaurant for not immediately offering to comp a meal she shared with Andy Cohen.
The Real Housewives of Orange County star, 62, said that she was “bothered” that Orange County restaurant The Quiet Woman didn’t offer to give her and Bravo host Andy Cohen a meal for free on Jamie Kennedy’s podcast Hate to Break It to Ya on July 23.
Kennedy asked whether the rumor was true that Beador and Cohen went to a restaurant and “demanded free food.”
Beador’s co-star Tamra Judge said on her Two Ts In A Pod podcast that Cohen was given a “$540 bill” for the table, and Beador felt like Cohen shouldn’t have to pay as he “put this restaurant on the map.”
The restaurant has been featured in various scenes in the show, including a fight between Judge and Beador while filming The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip and Judge telling Vicki Gunvalson she won’t apologize to Beador about their issues in a separate meal.
Judge said that she told Jeff Lewis on his Jeff Lewis Has Issues podcast that Beador “had a meltdown” at the restaurant.
“It’s a completely exaggerated story,” Beador told Kennedy.
“I have been frequenting this restaurant…for years now,” she said. “I’ve had some scenes there that have been, I guess, memorable.”

“But when I went to a restaurant and coordinated this dinner with six of my castmates and Andy Cohen, it’s kind of a big deal,” Beador continued. “So when Andy asks for the bill, and they brought one, I was bothered by it.”
“I said, ‘this is ridiculous. You have Andy Cohen here, who’s never been to Orange County, and he’s chosen your establishment,’” she said. “What else do you need?”
Beador clarified, “It wasn’t like I was having a meltdown, but I let my opinion be known.”
Kennedy asked what opinion she shared.
“I said, ‘it’s Business 101. You just had Andy Cohen in here with six housewives,’” she said.
Kennedy agreed and said that the restaurant should have “at least” given a discount. Beador said they could have offered a “free round of drinks” or appetizers.
“The fact that you got them on Bravo!” Kennedy pointed out.

Beador then explained that Cohen paid the bill and was leaving the restaurant when the manager approached.
She clarified that Cohen gave a “very big tip.”
“The manager ran up and said… ‘we’re gonna rip up the bill,’ and so he came up to me, going, ‘we ripped up the bill,’” she said.
“They ripped it up,” Kennedy repeated.
“It should’ve been discussed prior,” Beador emphasized. “It should’ve been figured out because it was embarrassing to me.”

“It’s just time for me to take a break,” she said. “From that restaurant.”
The video prompted debate over who was in the wrong.
“Andy was probably just gonna write it off as a work expense or use his bravo credit card and count it as a business dinner because it sounds like it was that,” one person commented. “I don’t think a restaurant owner should have to give all of you free food and… drinks just because you filmed a few scenes there through the years…🤷🏼♀️🙄”
“She’s in the wrong,” another added of Beador. “They can more than afford to pay for that bill and they should’ve.”
However, some were supportive of Beador, with one writing, “We wouldn’t ALL know about The Quiet Woman if it weren’t for the housewives. They’ve made hundreds of thousands $$, if not millions, thanks to them.”
The Quiet Woman did not immediately reply to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
On Radio Andy, Cohen told his own side of the “hubbub,” which he shared in a clip on Instagram in a collaborative post with The Quiet Woman.
“It was the greatest night. It was so much fun,” he said of the meal.
“I loved being there with the women and the staff at The Quiet Woman. I was so happy to meet them,” he added. “I was so happy to meet the owner and the manager, and they love the Housewives, and they love what the show has done for their business.”
He added that the restaurant was very “accommodating” and sat the group at “the middle table where all the drama has happened over the years.”
After the meal, he clarified, “I was brought the bill. I happily paid the bill and left a big tip because they had so been accommodating and I just, I love them there,” he said.
He said that when he walked out of the restaurant, the general manager said, “The dinner is on us, by the way. We’re ripping up the bill.”
Cohen recalled telling the manager he didn’t want him to do that because he wanted to tip the waiter.
“We figured that out, and that’s all I know,” he said. “I don’t think there’s any big kind of drama to this story.”
