NEED TO KNOW

  • Prosecutors intend to subpoena Tiger Woods’ medical records, according to court papers filed on June 13
  • They’re seeking statements Woods made about alcohol and drug use, as well as drug test results following his March rollover crash that led to his arrest on DUI charges
  • Woods has pleaded not guilty and has since underwent treatment in Zurich, Switzerland

Prosecutors in Florida intend to issue a subpoena for Tiger Woods' medical records as they pursue a DUI case against the golf legend in relation to his March rollover car crash.

In court papers filed on June 13, which were reviewed by PEOPLE, the Martin County State's Attorney's office said it intends to subpoena the Cleveland Clinic Martin South Hospital in Stuart, Fla., for "any and all reports documenting statements of [Woods'] regarding alcohol or chemical substance use," during his visit on March 27, 2026, as well as drug screen results and the name of the person who performed the testing.

Prosecutors plan to formally issue the subpoena on June 30, and are giving Woods' attorneys a 10-day notice to render any objections. No objections have been registered in court records as of June 15; Woods' attorney Doug Duncan did not immediately return a request for comment.

The news of the subpoena was first reported by TMZ on Monday.

Woods, 50, was arrested on March 27 and charged with DUI and property damage after he allegedly flipped over his SUV while attempting to pass a pressure cleaning truck near his home on Jupiter Island, Fla., PEOPLE previously reported.

Law enforcement said Woods, who was uninjured but appeared lethargic, was showing signs of impairment at the scene. Police alleged he blew triple zeroes on an alcohol breathalyzer test but refused to submit to a urinalysis test for the presence of other drugs in his system.

Responding officers reportedly found two opioid pills in his pocket when they searched the golfer.

Woods has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Following the crash, Woods said he would be stepping away from the spotlight for a period of time to seek treatment, which he underwent in Zurich, Switzerland after being granted permission to leave the U.S. for rehab.

In 2017, he was arrested on DUI charges after being found asleep at the wheel of his car on Jupiter Island; he later pleaded guilty to reckless driving. In 2009, he got a careless driving citation after crashing into a tree near his home.
