NEED TO KNOW

  • Nearly 5,000 all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) made for children have been recalled
  • The recall comes after a 6-year-old was killed in a crash involving one
  • The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) initiated the recall on Rex110 and Sierra110 Youth All-Terrain Vehicles because the products failed to adhere to mandatory safety standards

Nearly 5,000 all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) have been recalled after a 6-year-old was killed in a crash involving one.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) initiated the recall on Rex110 and Sierra110 Youth All-Terrain Vehicles on Thursday, April 23, because the made-for-children products failed to adhere to mandatory safety standards.

The recall comes several months after a 6-year-old boy died in a crash involving a Rex110 ATV. The child had been riding with a passenger at the time, though it is unclear whether that individual sustained any injuries, according to the CPSC.

The CPSC said the ATVs “fail to meet the maximum speed limitations” for four-wheelers intended for children ages 6 and older.

The vehicles' “mechanical suspension fails to comply with safety requirements," and their “throttle may get stuck during use," per the agency.

The CPSC added that the ATVs’ footwell surfaces can also “reach high temperatures,” which poses a risk for children getting severe burns.

The products fail “to comply with the requirements of the federal mandatory ATV safety standard, posing a risk of serious injury or death,” the CPSC said.

Lil Pick Up Inc., the importer and distributor for the ATVs, did not respond to PEOPLE's request for comment on Saturday, April 25.

About 4,900 ATVs sold in the U.S. are part of the recall, according to the CPSC. They include Rex110 youth ATVs sold between January 2023 and November 2025, and Sierra110 youth ATVs sold between January 2024 and January 2026.

The ATVs come in various colors, including black, blue, silver, green, orange, pink, burgundy, spider black, spider blue, spider red, green camo, purple camo and pink camo, per the CPSC.

The youth ATVs were manufactured in Vietnam and imported by Lil Pick Up Inc., which is located in California.

They were distributed to online and in-person stores, including Cougar Cycle, Texas Star DBA Flying Scooter, Vitacci Motorcycles, ODES USA, BV Powersports, Tool Store Go-Kart Shop, Offroad Mall, Triple J Imports and other retailers, per the CPSC.

The CPSC said that any consumer who purchased a Rex110 or Sierra110 Youth ATV should stop using them immediately and contact Lil Pick Up for a full refund.

Customers can register for the recall at www.lilpickup.us and receive instructions on how to return the ATVs. They can also get the ATV picked up from their home and transported for free.
