Matt Damon had a proud dad moment at the world premiere of his latest film.
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, The Odyssey star, 55, reflected on how much his four daughters, whom he shares with wife Luciana Damon, have grown over the years. Damon shared that he was “so happy” he brought them to the movie premiere for the Christopher Nolan-directed film, admitting that he became a little “teary” seeing them.
“They’re all having fun while I’m working, but I’m so happy they’re here,” he told the outlet. “Everybody’s so grown up. Like, I got a real dad teary moment seeing them today.”
Asked how it felt to see his daughters all grown up, the actor admitted it was a little overwhelming, but “wonderful” to see.
“Yeah. It’s a lot,” he admitted. “It’s wonderful, but it’s a lot.”
The Rip actor first crossed paths with his wife while she was bartending in Miami Beach and he was in town filming Stuck on You. When they met, Luciana had one daughter, Alexia, who was 4 years old at the time.
After marrying in 2005, Damon and Luciana welcomed three more daughters: Isabella, 20, Gia, 17, and Stella, 15. In 2019, the famed actor made his love for his girls permanent by getting all four of their names tattooed on his right upper arm. The sweet inscriptions appear next to his preexisting “Lucy” tattoo, which he previously got inked in honor of Luciana.
“On a whim, my wife said, ‘We’re going to get tattoos today,’ so I got a tattoo of her name,” he told Access Hollywood of his body art. “And it always felt alone on my arm, and I’ve always wanted to put the kids on there.”

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE back in June, the actor said that he and his daughters share a love for traveling the globe. His career in the entertainment industry has allowed him the opportunity to travel near and far, and his kids love to tag along on his getaways.
“We are seasoned travelers in our family, just because I work all over the world. So my kids love to travel,” Damon told PEOPLE.
This summer, the Air star will be booked and busy, traveling the globe to promote The Odyssey, which follows the story of Homer’s ancient Greek poem of the same name. He stars in the film as the lead character, Odysseus. According to Damon, he will have virtually no downtime ahead of the movie’s worldwide premiere.
“My decompression already happened,” he told PEOPLE with a laugh. “But we’re going to Europe, we’re going to do premieres in Mumbai, Beijing and Seoul. It’s a big push.”
“I’ll bring my family for a lot of it, so they can see some of these places,” added Damon.
The Odyssey hits theaters on July 17.
