The ‘Love Island USA’ Season 8 finale aired on Sunday, July 12

Love Island USA brought a few new elements to the season 8 finale.
Season 8 of the reality show concluded on Sunday, July 12. But, before Bryce Detloff and Trinity Tatum were announced as winners of the $100,000 prize, Love Island USA added new segments to commemorate the whirlwind season.
After viewing a montage of season 8 highlights, the islanders were shown videos of their family and friends back home sharing sweet messages.
The first couple to receive messages was Zach Georgiou and Kayda Bosse. Zach’s mother called Kayda “so beautiful” and told her she loves the way the two look at each other. Kayda’s friends from back home said they can’t wait for Kayda to bring Zach to New Hampshire.
Carl Schmidt’s dad told him that he made a “really good choice” in Aniya Harvey, while her dad said he’s rooting for them.
Bryce’s brother, Mason, called Trinity a “baddie” and the “ultimate prize,” and Trinity’s sister, Tanasia, called “Brinity” her winners.
Sincere Rhea’s mother, Chanel, and brother, Joseph, told him they’re proud he’s put his emotions on “the frontline” during his time in the villa, while Melanie Moreno’s dad, Nelson, told her how much he loves her.

Then, the islanders were surprised with messages from celebrity fans of the show, including Lizzo, Demi Lovato, Alex Warren, Ciara, Jordin Sparks, Sombr, Kesha, Druski and Kehlani.
“What’s up, islanders? You did it big,” Lizzo, 38, said. “You ate this season up! You’ve inspired us so much to love. I hope you’re ready to get out of that villa, ‘cause your whole life is about to change. You about to get one of these real soon, b—-!” referring to the espresso martini in her hand.
“Y’all made this summer so much fun, and I know I was locked in for every second,” Lovato, 33, said. “Sending you all so much love, and enjoy those french fries tonight,” referencing the islander’s famous innuendo.
“Hey islanders, it’s Alex Warren,” the “Ordinary” singer, 25, said in his video. “I’ve been watching the show every single night before I go onstage. You guys are doing amazing, and I’m so happy you’re finding love.” Panning the camera to a bowl of french fries, he said, “And I, too, love french fries.”

Up next was Ciara, 40, saying, “Thanks for entertaining us all and most importantly, bringing it back to love. Cici loves y’all.”
“I really enjoyed watching you guys fall in love and navigate everything this season,” Sparks, 35, said. “I wish you nothing but success and even more love outside the villa.”
“Also, thank you for singing ‘No Air,’ that was such a treat,” she continued, referring to Bryce and Trinity’s duet during the karaoke challenge on the July 5 episode.
“Hey, it’s Sombr,” the singer, 21, said. “Congratulations, islanders, on such an amazing season. You guys crushed it. It was so fun hearing my music in the show throughout the season. I’m such a huge fan. And I hope you guys found true love. Much love.”
“Your love is my drug,” Kesha, 39, said, referencing her hit 2010 song. “And just remember only love can save us now.”
“Congrats on surviving the villa and making it to the finale,” comedian Druski, 31, said. “Ladies, I’m still single. I’m just saying. If I show up to the reunion, I’m looking to join the show too.”
Finally, Kehlani, 31, appeared onscreen to give the finalists words of encouragement.
“To my ladies, some of you have really decided to show so much vulnerability on this show. It’s incredibly inspiring. I’m happy for the love that you found,” she said. “To my guys, a lot of you have really grown through this and become what seems to be really stand-up men. So I’m proud of you. I’m excited for you, and good luck on the rest of your journey in love.”

After the islanders relished in the moment, expressing their shock over the celebrity videos, Trinity shared a few last words to her fellow finalists.
“I think we all, after just seeing this whole journey from beginning to end, that we all literally f—ing won,” she said. “We’ve all found a good connection. We’ve all created a friendship that has turned into a family. Again, to just share this with you all is so special to me, and I will never forget this experience.”
“This is something that will turn into a core memory,” Trinity continued. “I’ll never forget you guys. We all won, f— it!”
Along with the finale, Peacock announced that the Love Island USA season 8 reunion, co-hosted by Ariana Madix and Andy Cohen, will drop Monday, Aug. 31, at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock.
