It doesn’t budge in balmy weather either
I consider myself a concealer connoisseur.
Much to my dismay, I inherited dark under-eyes. So, for as long as I can remember, I’ve obsessively looked for a product that effectively masks discoloration and doesn’t budge. (And as an on-air beauty expert who relies on concealer to look camera-ready at any hour, I’m a tough critic.) I’ve tested more than 100 different concealers in search of a hidden gem — and I think I finally found one. Enter: the Ilia Skin Blur Serum Concealer.

I’m a long-time Ilia fan, so I had high hopes for this product as soon as the clean beauty brand launched it. Although the Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 is its hero product, I swear by the Multi-Stick and Lip Sketch Hydrating Crayon, too. When I heard a new concealer formula was entering the family in 34 glorious shades, I jumped at the chance to test it out. The brand told me its Skin Blur Serum Concealer is formulated with Matrixyl3000 Glyx peptide complex, which plumps and hydrates the skin and doesn’t require a setting powder to stay put.
That claim was music to my ears, as most concealers tend to settle into my fine lines — and adding anything on top only accentuates dryness. The brand also explained that the concealer boosts elasticity and firmness, while magically delivering a velvety, crease-resistant finish that melts into the skin.

Upon testing, I discovered that mixing two shades (14W and 17W, in my case) was the secret to diminishing my pesky under-eye darkness. My under-eyes have a shadowy blue-gray cast, so I tend to gravitate toward warm-toned brightening shades. Other brands rarely have what I need, but I’m happy to report that Ilia’s work came through.
The concealer is also packed with sea fennel extract to brighten and smooth, caffeine to depuff, and genius little pigmented microspheres that diffuse into the skin seamlessly. To apply, I dab on a few swipes of both shades and use my favorite Anisa Beauty Angled Brush to blend and build coverage.

To truly put the concealer to the test, I attended the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament in Palm Springs and couldn’t believe how well it held up during a long day in the sun. I applied my makeup early in the morning, took a three-hour drive to the desert, and kept tabs on how my concealer performed in the sweltering heat. By the time I made my way back home after a 12-hour day, my Ilia concealer still looked fresh and flawless. The formula delivered on all of its promises and has officially secured its spot as my top concealer pick from here on out.
