Mailson Araujo Santos, a Brazilian bodybuilding influencer, died on July 13 after falling ill in his home. He was 35.

The content creator maintained a following of over 32,000 on Instagram, where he shared bodybuilding photos and videos alongside fitness tips. According to his Instagram bio, he also offered athletic consultations for his followers.

Per local outlet g1, Santos was well known in the local bodybuilding community and was preparing for a championship competition on July 15 at the time of his death. He was also a vocalist and would sing at a local evangelical church, the outlet reported. 

According to g1, Santos’s mother, who works as a nursing technician, attempted to provide the internet personality medical treatment after he experienced a medical emergency at his home in Alagoinhas, Brazil. Several first responders, including fire services and an ambulance, were called to his home, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, the outlet reported.

No cause of death has been released.

Santos shared his final update to his Instagram account on July 13, hours before his death. The post, a carousel of several photos from the gym, included a tag for the fitness brand Metamorfose Brasil in the caption.

In the comments, fans shared tributes to the late athlete following the news of his death.

“Rest in peace, warrior,” wrote one.

A burial is scheduled at a local cemetery at 3 p.m. on July 15, per g1.
