Aspyn Ovard is anticipating some fan questions following the announcement of her spot in the cast of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County.
On Monday, May 11, the content creator posted a YouTube video about her latest career move two weeks after Hulu confirmed the West Coast spinoff and its cast list. Ovard, 30, will star in the series alongside Avery Woods, Salomé Andrea, podcast host Bobbi Althoff, FishFam YouTuber Madison Bontempo and McCall DaPron, the younger sister of original MomTok member Mayci Neeley.
In her new vlog — which Ovard titled "I'm going on reality tv!!!" — she addressed some discrepancies between her personal life and the title of the show. She noted that she's already seen some skeptical reactions to the show's announcement, particularly with people "criticizing the word 'Mormon' or even the word 'wife,' " said Ovard.

"Obviously, I'm not a wife. I'm not married. There are a lot of Mormon girls in the cast. I think there's only two of us that are not married," she said. "I have so many ties to Mormonism from growing up in Utah, getting married young and just being surrounded by that culture. I've talked about Utah culture and like how it has affected me and shaped my life in so many ways."
Ovard was married to her ex, Parker Ferris, for eight years before she filed for divorce in April 2024. Over the course of their relationship, they welcomed three kids together: daughters Cove, 6; Lola, 4; and Elle, 2. Ovard has already stated in videos on her social media pages that she does not plan to show her children in the show.
In a TikTok posted in April, she said she would "blur them out if they're in my shot, or post the back of their heads," but for the most part, she is prioritizing protecting their identities.
"I've said many times it's been very, very, very hard for me to share my life the last few years. I just honestly have not known how with everything that has happened," Ovard noted. "I also think that it feels like I've been living … kind of been hiding or something for the last few years."
She added that she believes the show will be "healing" for her to finally open up about what she has been going through following her divorce.
In her recent YouTube video, Ovard said that she does plan to show her relationship with Bri Davis, who also has a husband. The influencer acknowledged that she previously swore off having another "public relationship," but she ultimately decided to allow the world to see that side of her life.

"When I first got approached, I was like, 'These are the things that I will not talk about,' " she explained. She eventually realized that her decision to leave out her relationship wouldn't prevent the other cast members from discussing it.
"I did end up just deciding … if I'm sharing my life, I need to just share all of it," Ovard recalled. "I really just committed to [being] like, 'Here is everything.' Not 100 percent of everything, but a lot of everything."
