A brother and sister in Canada still can't believe they're the winners of a massive lottery prize
The siblings, who decided to go by Jonathan R. and Mylene P., have been playing the lottery together for nearly two years, always choosing numbers with sentimental value, the Ontario residents told lottery officials.
With their win of over $52 million (or 75 million Canadian dollars), they even made history, becoming the first brother-sister duo to win a major lottery jackpot with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
“I'm so grateful for everything this means,” Jonathan said.
Jonathan was the sibling who first learned the good news, after checking the lottery app early in the morning after the March 3 drawing.
At first, he said that he thought they won about $52,000 (or 75,000 Canadian dollars), but once he put his glasses on and took another look, he realized their prize was actually much larger.
Funnily enough, when he first woke up his sister, she also thought the same until being told to "count the zeros."
As for what they'll do with their newfound fortune, Jonathan said his main priority is making sure his parents, wife and children are cared for.
“We came to Canada for a better life for ourselves and our families. My main priority is taking care of my parents, my wife, and my children," he told lottery officials. "My children will have their education paid for. I want them to have the best of the best."
Additionally, he wants to build a big home so generations can “benefit from this windfall” and construct a church in his hometown.

"My heart is full of so much love and joy," she added. "This win is a dream come true!”
