Zayn Malik has canceled all of his U.S. tour dates following a scary hospitalization and undisclosed illness.
On Friday, May 1, the One Direction alum shared two Instagram Stories posts updating fans on his health and the status of his tour.
“To my fans: Thank you so much for all the support and love you've shown me on the album release and more importantly your love, prayers, and well wishes for my health. I've felt it, and it's meant the world. I've been at home recovering and I'm doing well and will be better and stronger than before," Malik, 33, began.
He continued, "I've had to take another look at my schedule for the months ahead and have to reduce the number of shows on the KONNAKOL Tour. I want to make sure I still get out and see as many of you as I possibly can. I'm really looking forward to playing these shows for you, and I hope to see the rest of you around the world very soon. Big Love, Z”

On April 17, the same day that his album Konnakol was released, he revealed that he was healing from a mystery illness, sharing a photo from a hospital bed on his Instagram Stories.
“To my fans – Thank you to all of you for your love & support now & always – been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering,” Malik wrote on the photo, noting he was "heartbroken" he couldn't see his fans that week.
He added, "I wouldn't be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding.”
The “Die for Me” musician then shared his gratitude for the “incredible” hospital staff, including doctors, nurses, cardiologists and more.
“You are all legends! Big big love xx z,” Malik wrote.
He didn't share a diagnosis or reason for his hospitalization, and it remains unclear how long he had been hospitalized.
At the time, a rep for Malik did not immediately return PEOPLE's request for comment.
However, days later, a source told PEOPLE exclusively that Malik was taking a step back from promoting his album — including meet-and-greets and a late-night appearance — as he was seeking treatment from the "No. 1 cardiologist in the world."
"He's still working through his health issues," added the source. "He was supposed to appear on Fallon but isn't able to due to doctor's recommendations."
Malik was originally set to bring shows to North America starting in June and running through November.
When the "Pillow Talk" performer originally announced Konnakol, he described the title as “the act of creating percussive sounds with one's voice but what it means to me lies somewhere much deeper.”
In a statement, Malik added, "It is a sound that holds the reverberation of a time before words existed. I have always drawn on my heritage for inspiration since I first started making my own music, this album is a development of that understanding, knowing more now than ever, who I am, where I come from and where I intend to go."
