Finding bedding that works for both hot and cold sleepers seems impossible. While some people toss covers off to cool down, others burrow deeper into their fluffy hole. Nonetheless, we found a cotton quilt from Quince that both types love and shoppers say feels like “sleeping in a cloud.”
The Quince Organic Airy Gauze Duvet Cover Set is made of breathable 100 percent cotton, has a lightweight fill, and uses multiple thin layers of fabric to create the ideal weight for year-round rest. It comes in sizes twin through California King and is available in neutrals like beige, gray, ivory, sage green, navy blue, and new spring shades such as dusty mauve; however, sizes are selling out in certain colors.

Unlike other cotton quilts, this one is made specifically from long staple cotton that prevents pilling, wrinkles, and the loss of shape, and has an Oeko-Tex Standard 100 label (meaning it’s free from hundreds of harmful chemicals). It’s also smoother, creating a softer finish, and is more durable thanks to a strong weave that prevents fraying. To make it even more velvety, the quilt comes pre-washed. Four gauze-like layers of cotton are sewn together to create a bouncy, full feeling without too much heft that shoppers say is “breathable, soft, and cozy.”
While the quilt is airy, it has a luxe, fluffy look thanks to its polyester fill. In fact, one reviewer said it “gives the duvet appearance without the duvet commitment.” The tufted design offers a traditional, high-end hotel vibe, and the visible woven texture of the cotton adds a warm textural feeling to a room, but it doesn’t make the bedding rough or scratchy.
