President Donald Trump will present the trophy to the winners of the World Cup final on July 19 in New Jersey.
Trump, 80, will present the final trophy for the 2026 World Cup alongside FIFA president Gianni Infantino, Infantino told Fox & Friends. The game will be held at MetLife Stadium, known as New York New Jersey Stadium during the tournament, in East Rutherford, N.J.
Infantino, 56, previously presented the World Cup final trophy by himself in both tournaments since his tenure as FIFA present began, both in Qatar in 2022 and Russia in 2018, according to ESPN.
"We will be together with the president [Trump] enjoying the final and handing the trophy to the winner, of course, together," Infantino said on Fox & Friends. "We are together all the time."
PEOPLE has reached out to the White House for comment.
Trump has appeared alongside Infantino in the past. In December 2025, Infantino awarded Trump the first FIFA peace prize before the World Cup Draw. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, also attended the event, which helped determine which teams would compete against one another during round-robin play in the world's largest soccer tournament.

Trump and Infantino also appeared together at the FIFA Club World Cup in July 2025, when Chelsea defeated Paris Saint-Germain at MetLife Stadium.
Trump was booed when he was introduced and also had an awkward moment with players when he presented Chelsea the trophy. While Infantino left to let the team celebrate, Trump stood by until Infantino appeared to persuade Trump to leave to give the players the spotlight.

Trump has yet to attend a 2026 World Cup match, but he has attended several other sports events during his second term. He recently attended the New York Knicks' NBA Finals matchup with the San Antonio Spurs on June 8.
Trump was watching the game from a private box, alongside granddaughter Kai Trump, the eldest daughter of his son, Donald Trump Jr. He was booed as as Avery Wilson performed "The Star Spangled Banner."
The president's attendance, at the invitation of Knicks owner and longtime friend James Dolan, required airport-like security at the New York City arena and caused the NYPD to shut down 10-square blocks around the Garden, long dubbed the "Mecca of Basketball," in Midtown Manhattan.
In September 2025, Trump was similarly greeted with boos when he attended the U.S. Open, where he was a guest of Rolex, according to ESPN.
