During a recent Disneyland trip, I logged an impressive 17,000 steps in a single day. No offense to my sneakers, but when I made it back to my hotel, my feet were tired. If only I’d packed a pair of supportive, expert-backed kicks.
Thankfully, there’s still time to pick up podiatrist-approved sneakers, loafers, and sandals before the rest of my Disneyland visits and cross-country travels this season. I rounded up seven pairs of summer walking shoes on Amazon from brands like Skechers, Vionic, New Balance, and Dr. Scholl’s, starting at $34.

Brooks Ghost Max 3 Neutral Running and Walking Shoes

$160 $120 at Amazon
Board-certified podiatrist Dr. Matthew Neuhaus previously told PEOPLE that the Ghost Max sneakers are “very stable” due to the “thick foam sole, which provides a cushion that people often need when they have significant arch or heel pain.” The brand is a constant go-to of Jennifer Garner’s, too. These sneakers come in 10 bold colors and sizes 5–12 with half sizes, wide, and extra-wide widths available.
Vionic Uptown Loafers

$145 $85 at Amazon
“These shoes have a very professional style that is suitable for being on your feet throughout a long workday,” Dr. Neuhaus previously shared with PEOPLE. The loafers are designed with contoured footbeds, deep heel cups, and shock-absorbing cushioning to keep you comfortable with every step.
New Balance Fresh Foam Roav Running Shoes

$90 $70 at Amazon
These New Balance sneakers are “great for those with flatter feet, or those [who] want a lower heel-to-toe drop,” podiatrist Dr. Elizabeth Daughtry once told PEOPLE. “I have walked several miles in the last two years with these shoes and have completed quite a few 5Ks,” one reviewer said. “Just recently, I traveled to Japan and Las Vegas, averaging 23,000 steps per day, and my feet are totally fine.” And it certainly doesn’t hurt that Scarlett Johansson was recently spotted in a pair of New Balance sneakers, too.
Skechers Summits Dazzling Haze Slip-On Sneakers, $33 with coupon

$55 $33 at Amazon
My mom has something in common with Martha Stewart — they both frequently wear Skechers. The brand is also a favorite of board-certified foot and ankle surgeon, Dr. Lori Grant, who previously told PEOPLE that these slip-on sneakers with memory foam insoles are especially ideal for people with plantar fasciitis. “The most important [feature] is cushioning in the heel area, as it acts like a shock absorber when your heel first hits the ground,” she explained.

Hoka Clifton 10 Sneakers

PEOPLE shopping writer Toni Sutton proclaimed these Hoka sneakers “a Goldilocks walking shoe with just the right amount of everything,” noting that they’re “ultra plush” with “plenty of cushioning” that feels like “walking on clouds.” The sneakers have also earned a Seal of Acceptance from the American Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Scholl’s Islander Sandals

$80 $48 at Amazon
These Dr. Scholl’s sandals have anatomical cushioning that “helps distribute pressure more evenly across the foot while maintaining a fashionable style,” podiatrist Dr. Michelle A. Morse previously told PEOPLE. They’re designed with contoured footbeds and padded straps, and they come in three colors.
