Nick Jonas has a brand-new gig.
The singer-songwriter and actor, 33, is partnering with Schick to launch its Do Right By Your Skin campaign aimed at reinforcing the brand’s decades-long commitment to skin.
For the brand, shaving is about more than removing hair. It’s an important step in a skin care regimen. That’s where Jonas comes in. As the face of the campaign, he will help support the brands’ message and normalize shaving as a form of self-care.
The role is a no-brainer for the global superstar, and not just because Nick rhymes with Schick.
“The rhyme was a perfect way into the conversation,” Jonas tells PEOPLE exclusively, continuing, “Living most of my life in the public eye and [on] a fair share of red carpet events, you want to get a nice shave in there [to] look your best [and] feel your most confident. I've seen the power of that at various stages in my life, both professionally and personally. And so to bring that to light in this campaign was a dream.”

Jonas, who made his Broadway debut at age nine, isn’t joking about all the time she’s spent in the spotlight. He says he first started focusing on his grooming routine at 13.
“I think at first it was quick and easy, and now I take a little bit more time, [I’m] more thoughtful as I've gotten a little older,” he says.
Having spent the last twenty years shaving, Jonas has honed in on products that support his skin. These days he rotates between Schick’s Hydro and Xtreme razors.
“The one that's featured in the campaign here today that I'm using is the Hydro, which is great. I actually just used it to clean up my neck, which is nice,” he says of the aloe and pro-vitamin B5 find. “The Schick Extreme is another one that was featured in this that I've used before and absolutely love,” he adds.
Jonas describes his morning routine as “simple.”
After a shower “to wake the system up” he says “it's just a combination of a few things that make me feel ready to take on the day,” he says. Aside from shaving, he likes to apply a nice spritz or two of cologne.”
Though he admits he’s perhaps worn fragrances he labels as “just way too intense” in the past, he’s got his scents down to a science. “You got to find the balance of something that suits you, suits your vibe, but it doesn't walk in the room before you.”
There’s also “hair care products that I absolutely love, and I've got a big mess of hair up here that I’ve got to find a way to maneuver around at times,” Jonas says. He’s also a fan of eye patches, calling them his “hack” for faking a good night’s sleep “when you feel like you haven't got all the rest you need.”

And he maintains his nails, thanks to some guidance he received from his mother when he was a kid.
“It's kind of seared in my memory,” Jonas tells PEOPLE. “My mom said when I was nine or 10 years old that I always need to try to take really good care of my nails. She's like, ‘Girls like guys with nice nails.’ I was like, ‘That's good advice, mom. I'll keep that in mind.’
The tip made Jonas “paranoid about my nails on both my feet and my hands” but today, it’s just another part of his routine.
Jonas doesn’t indulge in much, but says the most “extra” thing he’s done with his skin is indulge in the occasional spa day “where I really treat myself and get the nice lymphatic massage in the face. … It's good stuff,” he says.
The star is also mindful about what he puts in his body. For instance, when he’s on tour, staying hydrated is essential. “We have these great tour branded water bottles that are basically like your daily supply of what you should drink. So I try to complete one of those each day. I don't always do it, but that's the goal.”
It’s no wonder Jonas confidently says “it's me,” when asked which of his brothers gives the best grooming tips.
“I'm sorry, I am one of the brothers, so I can say that. No, we all give each other little cheat codes here and there, and we all require different things,” he explains.
For him, health and wellness go hand-in-hand. “For me [it’s about] finding ways to take better care of myself so that I can step out and be my most confident and ready to take on the day, whether it's a work thing or just stepping out for a nice trip to the park with my daughter.”

Jonas says he wishes more men would talk about self-care, from shaving to wearing sunscreen. That’s why he’s hyped up to collaborate with Schick, and get the conversation going.
“And all their products across the board have been a part of the fabric of people's lives for so long, and to get to bring that to the main stage like this in this campaign is going to be a lot of fun.”
