Is there one true founder of MomTok? Depends on who you ask.
Whitney Leavitt is one of the original eight Mormon influencers who rose to fame in season 1 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which chronicled Taylor Frankie Paul‘s “soft swinging” scandal.
Fans recently noticed that Paul, who will not be returning to season 5 of the hit Hulu series after she and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, were involved in a “domestic assault investigation”, gave herself credit for the creation of MomTok and SLOMW in her Instagram bio.
“Creator of Momtok + SLOMW 🩵 The Bachelorette 🌹Jesus is king🤍,” her social media bio reads.

As season 5 of SLOMW resumes production without Paul or Mortensen, Leavitt, along with some of their costars, had something to say about Paul’s Instagram.
In an Instagram Reel uploaded on Wednesday, July 8, Leavitt filmed herself mouthing along to an audio featuring Beyoncé‘s “Partition.”
Leavitt, who briefly took off her sunglasses and winked at fans, wrote over the video, “How it feels being “creator” of momtok & SLOMW. “
While some fans took it as Leavitt giving herself credit for the show’s success, she clarified in the caption, “It’s not founding mother…it’s founding motherSSSSS 😉.”
Some of Leavitt and Paul’s castmates responded in the comment section.
Mikayla Matthews commented, “You should put it in your bio 💅🏼💕.”
Mayci Neeley wrote, “Looks like you’re next on the unfollow list 👀.”
Layla Taylor posted a GIF of someone buckling their seatbelt.
Leavitt’s husband, Conner, commented, “Should I share my Mount Rushmore of Momtok 😜.’
In another Instagram Reel, Leavitt confirmed that she was filming confessionals for SLOMW while dancing in front of the show’s white sofa.

“I still got some things to say 😝👀🤭,” she captioned the video.
The Dancing with the Stars alum announced her departure from SLOMW following the show’s fifth season, during her final Broadway performance of Chicago on Sunday, May 3, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Days later, Leavitt said during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show that she had started a production company.
In April, the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office announced that it would not be pursuing charges against Paul.
