Savannah opened up about her husband’s shocking decision to leave the Los Angeles Lakers in an episode of her podcast ‘Everybody’s Crazy’

LeBron James‘ wife, Savannah James, is calling out critics of her husband’s surprising decision to leave the Los Angeles Lakers after his 8th season with the NBA team.
In the Tuesday, July 7, episode of Savannah’s podcast Everybody’s Crazy, she discussed LeBron’s bombshell free agency and the public’s reaction with co-host April McDaniel.
Savannah said that “people are always going to have something to say but there’s really nothing you can say about that,” and McDaniel chimed in to note that the community surrounding the couple and her podcast “is very positive.”
“And I feel like that is the piece that I want to protect the essence of and figuring out how we continue to grow that community,” McDaniel continued. “Because I don’t think that that is normal with social media. No, I think people build up things to crush them.”
“You think that? That is a fact,” Savannah replied.
“I feel like that’s the hard part with LeBron,” McDaniel continued. “Being such an icon, how negative people can be. I’m like, ‘Can y’all get a life?’ ”
“It’s crazy,” Savannah said. “People have definitely made careers out of talking about [LeBron].”
“Like… [critics having] a subjective opinion about what everybody thinks is the best thing,” Savannah said later in the conversation. “But to be on the other side of it, it’s like, ‘No, it’s not.’ They make careers out of that.”

On June 30, LeBron, 41, confirmed his intentions to part ways with the Lakers, his agent Rich Paul confirmed to ESPN.

Later that day, the team’s owner Jeanie Buss shared a message thanking James on X.
“LeBron James is one of the greatest athletes in history,” Buss, 64, began in her statement. “We will always be thankful for his eight years with the Lakers — including the title he led us to in 2020 under the toughest imaginable circumstances and the countless records he broke in purple and gold. We wish him all the best in the future, both on the court and off. He will always be a cherished part of the Lakers family.”
Shortly after the Lakers posted Buss’ message, James responded, writing, “No, THANK YOU! Truly a honor to wear the 💜💛 while trying to continuing the greatness & legacies that came before me! Hope I made a few proud during my stint. 🙏🏾🫡👑.”
James played eight seasons with the Lakers and won the NBA championship in the 2020 COVID bubble season. During his two most recent seasons, the future Hall of Famer made his longtime dream of playing with his son Bronny, 21, come true, and the two made history as the first father-son duo to play together in the NBA.
