A man in Michigan can thank TikTok for his six-figure lottery win.
Grosjieon Moore, 63, went to the New Quick Stop Market in Detroit to buy a $5 lottery ticket — an idea that was sparked by watching TikTok videos of other players winning big, officials with the Michigan lottery said in a news release on Wednesday, April 22.
"I thought to myself how that would never happen to me," he said.
However, a few days later, Moore decided to try his luck and bought a ticket for the $500,000 Bonus Scratch Multiplier instant game.
Much to his surprise, his wife soon yelled out, "We got a winner!"

Since the game launched in February, players have won more than $6 million in prizes, according to lottery officials. To date, more than $23 million remains up for grabs, including two $500,000 prizes and eight $10,000 prizes.
