One child star is sharing just how much money being on a well-loved teen show still pays 20 years later.
Jennifer Tedmori posted a video on Instagram on July 24, showing around 19 envelopes she said were all residual checks she’s received for her work as a child actor. Tedmori, who is now also a lawyer, was on 11 episodes of the popular Nickelodeon show Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide. As Doris Trembly, a member of the “Huge Crew” who all had a crush on Ned (Devon Werkheiser), she was a bully who would pick on other girls around the titular character, mainly Moze (Lindsey Shaw).

“Sad time of the year for me. I got my Ned’s residual checks, and I have been procrastinating for months in opening this because it is a b—h,” Tedmori starts the video. “Some of these could be a penny, some of these could be five dollars. So I figured you could be my body double and go through these with me.”
Tedmori goes through the stack of residual checks one by one, and the very first one she shows is for two cents. The text overlay on her video reads “Crashout incoming.”
“See, all this paper I’m just like littering in my car for two f—ing cents,” Tedmori said after showing the camera the check. “I know hard times economy is s–t, but like two cents? Like keep it. Just f—ing keep it. I don’t want it.”
Tedmori continues like this, showing multiple checks with less than 50 cents in residuals. After opening another one for just three cents, she noted it was more expensive to mail the paper checks than the individual checks were worth.
“Now I get it, it’s been a long time. I’m surprised that I’m getting anything, but three cents?” she said. “It cost you 75 cents to send this envelope, and the way it’s adding up — the math ain’t f—ing mathing.”
The largest check Tedmori found in the bunch actually wasn’t for Ned’s Declassified, but was instead for an episode of 90210 she appeared on in 2008 (where she played a character known only as “Goth Girl”) — netting her $21.43.

After adding up all of the residual checks, in total Tedmori was paid $8.63 in residuals for the 11 episodes of Ned’s Declassified — though the additional check from 90210 landed her a payday of $30.06.
“Maybe I can go buy a coffee at Starbucks,” she said. “Why do you even report this to the IRS? They’re not even going to give a f–k. I hope you all found this video entertaining.”

Though she may still be recognized for her role on the show, she’s not the only one from the Nickelodeon show who has admitted to struggling financially. Werkheiser wrote in an op-ed for Business Insider in 2023 that he struggled to find work after the show wrapped, leaving him living off his savings.
“My savings, which I’d been living pretty modestly on, inevitably ran out when I was around 25,” he wrote. “I just wasn’t paying attention and suddenly it was like ‘Oh s–t, I need to start making a living.’ ”
