"Terrence and I had a few friendly outings—nothing romantic," the singer tells PEOPLE exclusively

Farrah Franklin is weighing in on Terrence Howard's claims that he dated a member of Destiny's Child.
The Hustle & Flow star, 57, recently said he passed on the chance to date Beyoncé and dated another group member instead.
“You know, I had a chance to date Beyoncé early on,” Howard said on the PBD Podcast earlier this month. “We had a conversation, you know, and I ended up talking to the other girl inside of, you know, Destiny [’s Child]. The girl with the blue eyes.”

Franklin, who briefly served as a member of the major girl group, is now speaking out on Howard's revelation, telling PEOPLE: “I’m Farrah with the natural green eyes (not Blue lol), and I can confirm that Terrence and I had a few friendly outings—nothing romantic.”
“We went to the studio a few times, and I will say that Terrence is super talented!” she adds of the Empire actor. “I won’t speculate on anything else that was said, and as always, I wish everyone well and remain focused on my own journey.”
Howard didn't mention a name when disclosing his version of events, but did name-drop Beyoncé and her former group members after podcast host Patrick Bet-David brought up Hollywood power couples like the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer, 44, and her husband Jay-Z.
The Houston hitmakers originally consisted of Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson.
Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin joined the ladies after Luckett and Roberson's exit. Not long after the switch, Franklin also parted ways with the “Survivor” singers, who continued with Beyoncé, Rowland and Williams.
During the podcast, Howard told Bet-David that when the group picked three famous men from the audience to come onstage at the 2005 BET Awards, he felt Beyoncé chose to serenade him to show him what he’d missed out on.

“I remember Beyoncé looking over at me, and I think that's why she picked me to do that dance, when she did the kind of strip tease dance that we did at BET or whatever, to show me what I had lost,” he said.
Rowland was paired with Nelly, and Williams with Magic Johnson as the ladies did a live performance of “Cater 2 U.”
Howard reiterated that the situation happened “very, very long ago.”

Since the 2005 performance, Beyoncé and Jay-Z married in 2008, and share three children: daughter Blue Ivy, 14, and twins Rumi and Sir, 8.
The Iron Man actor has been married four times and is a father to five kids.
As for Franklin, she tells PEOPLE, “I’ve been working on new music and film projects, and it’s definitely next level. I’m looking forward to share it with the world.”
