A former Louisiana fifth grade teacher is facing 25 sex crime charges involving two students.
The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office said detectives launched an investigation into Marisa Noel, 31, on Jan. 28 following a complaint alleging that she was “having an inappropriate relationship with one of her former students,” according to a press release posted on Facebook.
At the time of the alleged offense, Noel was working at Teche Elementary School, the release states.
With the assistance of the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security Investigations, detectives determined there was probable cause to arrest Noel on charges of indecent behavior with juveniles and computer-aided solicitation of a minor.
On April 15, the sheriff’s office announced that the investigation identified an additional victim.
Noel was arrested on charges of indecent behavior with juveniles, first-degree rape, child sexual abuse materials, unlawful communications; telephones and telecommunications devices; improper language; harassment and computer-aided solicitation of a minor.

She is being held at the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.
It’s unclear if she has entered a plea or retained an attorney.
