NEED TO KNOW
- President Donald Trump has been married three times, and has five adult children
- Apart from the youngest, Barron, each of the Trump children have married and started families of their own, blending other powerful families in business and politics
- Don Jr., who has five children with his first wife, Vanessa, is currently planning his second wedding with Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson
Donald Trump is the father of five adult children from three wives, and all but the youngest, Barron, have gone on to have families of their own, making the president's extended family a political entourage of its very own.
During his early years in real estate, hobnobbing with the New York City elite, he was married to model and socialite Ivana, who gave him his first three children: Don Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. A relationship with actress Marla Maples became marriage no. 2 and led to his second daughter, Tiffany. His meeting with his third wife, Melania, also overlapped his time as a married man; however, they wouldn't wed until several years after his second divorce.
His children were raised amid the New York and Palm Beach social scenes, and ultimately, the eldest four each found unique partners of their own to add to the Trump family. So far, only Don Jr. has divorced, though he and ex-wife Vanessa maintain an amicable co-parenting relationship for their five children.
Now, as Don Jr. prepares to wed Bettina Anderson after his longtime engagement to Kimberly Guilfoyle fell apart, here's a look at all the current and former spouses who have married into the powerful business family.

Ivana Zelníčková

Donald Trump met Czech-born model Ivana Zelníčková in New York City in 1976. When they married the following year, he became her second husband, technically. She had previously married a platonic friend in Canada in order to leave then-Czechoslovakia without defecting.
Over the course of their 13-year marriage, the couple welcomed three children — Don Jr., Ivanka, and Eric — and were also partners in business, with Ivana holding management positions in the Trump Organization, the Castle casino resort and the Plaza Hotel.
Donald and Ivana split in 1990, following tabloid reports of infidelity and volatile fights. The hotly contested divorce was eventually granted on the grounds of "cruel and inhuman treatment" by Donald. However, the terms of their settlement also required Ivana to sign a non-disclosure agreement and seek Donald's permission before publicly discussing their marriage.
Ivana married twice more prior to her death on July 14, 2022, at age 73. She succumbed to blunt force injuries after falling down the stairs at her Upper East Side home. Donald had his first wife buried on the grounds of his Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J.

Marla Maples

Marla Maples, a Georgia-born model and actress, met Donald in 1984 and began a relationship while he was still married to Ivana. Famously, everything came to a head when Marla confronted Ivana during an Aspen ski vacation in 1989.
In her 2017 memoir, Raising Trump, Ivana recounted, "This young blonde woman approached me out of the blue and said, 'I'm Marla and I love your husband. Do you?' I said 'Get lost. I love my husband.' It was unladylike but I was in shock."
Following his first divorce, Donald and Marla began a highly publicized relationship, breaking up at least once before marrying at New York's Plaza Hotel in December 1993, just two months after welcoming their daughter, Tiffany.
However, the relationship remained volatile, and rumors of infidelity persisted. The couple separated in 1997 and officially divorced in 1999. Once again, the terms of the settlement mandated confidentiality; Donald had included in his prenup that Marla was forbidden from publishing “any diary, memoir, letter, story, photograph, interview, article, essay, account or description or depiction of any kind whatsoever, whether fictionalized or not, concerning (or seeming to concern) the details of the parties’ marriage.”

Melania Knauss

Slovenian model Melania Knauss was introduced to Donald by Metropolitan Models co-owner Paolo Zampolli in 1998, amid his divorce from Marla.
After dating on and off for several years, Melania and Donald married in January 2005 and welcomed son Barron the following year. While she publicly supported her husband's multiple bids for the White House, PEOPLE's source reporting, and even Melania's own words, have offered varying opinions on how she feels about being first lady.
She splits her time between the White House, Mar-a-Lago and New York City and has repeatedly asserted her ideological independence from Donald, telling Fox News in January 2025, ahead of the second inauguration, "I have my own thoughts, I have my own yes and no. I don’t always agree what my husband is saying or doing, and that’s OK."

Vanessa Haydon

The Trump spouse with perhaps the most surprising romantic history, Vanessa Haydon grew up on the Upper East Side and worked as a model in her teens and 20s. She had rumored romances with both actor Leonardo DiCaprio and Latin Kings member Valentín Rivera before getting into a serious relationship with Saudi Prince Khalid bin Bandar Al Saud in 1998. The pair split after the 9/11 terror attacks, when Khalid left the United States amid unfounded rumors that his father had ties to the hijackers.
She married Donald Trump Jr. in November 2005, and the couple shares five children: Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer and Chloe. They split in 2018, with the divorce finalized the same year.
In March 2025, Vanessa went public with her relationship with pro golfer Tiger Woods. PEOPLE confirmed at the time that the couple had been quietly dating for several months. She still makes occasional public appearances with the Trump family and reportedly remains on good terms with her former in-laws. Publicly, she continues to go by Vanessa Trump.

Jared Kushner

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, a Harvard-educated real estate investor, met in 2007 when friends set them up on a business lunch. The couple dated for two years before getting married in 2009 — after Ivanka converted to Judaism. They share three children, Arabella, Joseph, and Theodore, and are raising them as Orthodox Jews. The family keeps kosher, observes the Sabbath and attends synagogue.
Both Ivanka and Jared served as senior White House advisers during Donald's first term, but announced they'd be stepping back when he was elected president a second time. Since then, however, Jared has again become a seemingly crucial player in the Trump administration.
In December 2025, amid ongoing fighting in the Gaza Strip and rising tensions around the Middle East, President Trump announced that Jared and Steve Witkoff were "in charge of that from our side." At the time, Jared held no official position in the Trump administration and Witkoff's title was "special envoy to the Middle East."
Jared — the son of real estate mogul Charles Kushner — now has the title "special envoy for peace missions," negotiating on behalf of his father-in-law with Iran and between Israel and Hamas, and Russia and Ukraine, despite the fact that, during Donald's first term, his application for top security clearance was initially denied due to concerns about foreign influence on him and his family's business dealings. (A Trump-installed White House official later overruled the recommendation and approved the clearance.)

Lara Yunaska

Eric Trump and Lara Yunaska, a North Carolina native, met in 2008 through mutual friends and began dating a few months later. She later admitted that, when they first met, she had no idea who Eric was. "I did not know who his dad was," she recalled on her podcast The Right View. "I didn't know his last name initially. I just knew I met some really tall guy out."
They married at Mar-a-Lago in November 2018, and share two children: a son, Luke, and a daughter, Carolina. Their family is based in Westchester, N.Y.
Lara floated the idea of running for a North Carolina Senate seat in 2021; however, later decided that it would take too much time away from her family. "I am saying no for now, not no forever," she said at the time.
She served as co-chair of the Republican National Committee from March 2024 until January 2025, seeing through her father-in-law's successful reelection. Following the inauguration, Lara returned to Fox News, debuting a Saturday evening talk show, My View with Lara Trump.

Michael Boulos

Tiffany Trump made her relationship with Michael Boulos, a Lebanese-American businessman, both Instagram and White House official during her father's first term in 2019 when she posted a photo with him in the Red Room. A source told PEOPLE at the time that the couple met at Lindsay Lohan's club in Greece the summer prior and began dating.
After Michael proposed in the White House Rose Garden in 2021, they tied the knot at Mar-a-Lago the following November. The couple welcomed their first child, son Alexander Trump Boulos, in May 2025.
While Michael holds no official role in the Trump administration, he has followed the example of the other Trump spouses and been on Tiffany's arm during major events and state visits. He even accompanied the family to the state visit to the U.K., where he was selected to enter the royal banquet alongside Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales. Michael's father, businessman Massad Boulos, has served as President Trump's senior adviser for Arab and African affairs since January 2025.

Soon: Bettina Anderson

Don Jr. got engaged to former Fox News anchor Kimberly Guilfoyle in 2020, though the two never scheduled a wedding. While the couple never formally announced their breakup, Don Jr. began publicly stepping out with Bettina Anderson, a Palm Beach socialite, in August 2024, with sources later confirming to PEOPLE that the relationship had been going on since at least June.
By February 2025, a source told PEOPLE that Don and Bettina were "going strong" and could "go the distance." That December, President Trump announced their engagement at a White House event.
Bettina's bridal shower was held in April 2026; however, the couple had not yet announced a wedding day. Sources told PEOPLE that same month that the couple might wait to get married until construction is completed on the White House ballroom, so they could marry there instead of Mar-a-Lago, though reports have since suggested that a White House wedding has become far from certain.
