Emma Heming Willis celebrated her 50th birthday just as she believes her husband Bruce Willis would have.
Emma, who turned 50 on Thursday, June 18, shared a series of photos to her Instagram on Friday, June 19 from a party she held in celebration of her milestone birthday on Saturday, June 13. In a caption, she credited a friend with encouraging her to mark turning 50 in a big way and noted that her husband Bruce, 71, would have organized a big party.
Emma, who has been married to Bruce since 2009, is a caregiver to the retired actor; he received a frontotemporal dementia (FTD) diagnosis in 2023.
"Months ago, my friend @qu.oc kept asking, 'What are we doing for your 50th?' My answer was always the same, nothing. If I'm honest, I'm not in a particularly social or celebratory season of life," Emma wrote in a caption to her post. "But week after week, between these annoying Bulgarian squats he makes me do and pep talks, he kept planting the seed. So we started imagining what a celebration might look like. 💭 Friends and family gathered at home. Tacos. Margaritas. Chocolate cake. And not the dense, fancy kind. The fluffy Duncan Hines kind, cause that's my fav."
"The more I thought about it, the more I realized that milestones really matter. And if there's one worth celebrating, it's 50. I never want to look back on my life with regret," she added. "And I found myself thinking about what Bruce would have done for my 50th. If you knew what he did for my 40th, you'd know there would have been a massive celebration. So we had one."

In the photos Emma posted from the party, she posed with her stepdaughter Tallulah Willis and Tallulah's mother, Demi Moore, Moore's dog Pilaf and plenty of other friends. Moore shares daughter Tallulah, 32, as well as Rumer, 37, and Scout, 34, with Bruce, whom she was married to between 1987 and 2000.
"My mom and Jenn took over and gave me strict instructions, 'We're planning this. No micromanaging.' And they pulled off a night I'll never forget," Emma added in her Instagram caption. "A home filled with family and friends who have witnessed so many chapters of my life. People who have shown up for me, time and time again, with love, loyalty, authenticity and understanding. It was a beautiful way to welcome 50. And the Knicks won that night too. Now that's what I call a party favor. 🧡"
