A Georgia couple said a simple tradition has helped keep their marriage going strong for more than three decades: weekly bookstore dates.
Michael and Brooks Breedlove have been married for more than 30 years, and they visit Read It Again Bookstore in Suwanee every week, according to area news outlet Atlanta News First.
“It is something we can do together and share. It builds our bonds together. We really like that, and we can tell funny stories back and forth too,” Michael said during an interview with the outlet.

“She is everything,” he added while speaking about his wife.
The couple often even wears matching outfits on their outings.
“After retirement is when we started dressing … alike so much more, particularly anytime we were going out,” Michael explained, adding, “I figured that way, she'd have to associate with me.”
As for Brooks, she said she was “grateful” to have met someone so “wonderful” to share her life with.

As for what she believes is the secret to their decades-long love?
“I like him,” she said.
Bookshop owner Kim McNamara told the outlet that Brooks receives medical treatment in the area, and that the couple often times their visits as a “treat” after appointments.
She added that the patrons of her bookstore form a special community of book lovers.
“If I don't know your name or my staff doesn't specifically know your name, we know what you read. And it makes it part of a community,” Kim explained.
