Enola Holmes 3 takes Enola on a more personal mission than ever.
The third movie in the Enola Holmes franchise, which hit the streamer on July 1, once again follows Millie Bobby Brown as Enola Holmes, the amateur detective and younger sister of Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill). Enola appears to be getting her happy ending by marrying Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge), but her wedding quickly gets disrupted when she learns that Sherlock has been kidnapped.
"Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide on a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before," the movie's synopsis reads.
As the story plays out, Enola must embrace being a member of the Holmes family — which also includes her mother Eudoria (Helena Bonham Carter) — by stepping up to the plate and coming to her brother's rescue. Before she knows it, Enola comes face-to-face with one of her former nemeses who has made a shocking return.
In addition to Brown, Cavill, Partridge and Carter, the film — which is based on the book series of the same name by Nancy Springer — also stars Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Susan Wokoma, Himesh Patel, Jason Watkins, Hattie Morahan and Joe Azzopardi.
Here's everything to know about how Enola Holmes 3 ended.

On the morning of her wedding day, Enola learns from Dr. Watson (Patel) that her older brother has been kidnapped. She subsequently ditches her nuptials and proceeds to look for any clues that could tell her where Sherlock is.
Enola begins her search at his hotel in Malta, where she finds a piece of lace and the word "Khost" — which could be related to the city in Afghanistan — written in Morse code on a mirror. After leaving the hotel, she tracks down a soldier who met Sherlock the night before he vanished. Just when she reaches him, the soldier is shot. Luckily for her, he gets out the word "Wrath" before he dies.
Just one day later, Tewkesbury's mother, Lady Tewkesbury (Morahan) also gets kidnapped. To further send a message, the kidnapper sets the hotel on fire to possibly destroy evidence. Despite the hotel being burned to the ground, Enola discovers both a war medal and a friend — Mikiel Mizzi (Azzopardi). Mikiel informs Enola that he thinks Professor Adeline Rathe is the perpetrator. The name quickly rings a bell for Enola when she realizes the dying soldier may have been saying "Rathe" instead of "Wrath."
Enola returns to Malta and gets a major break in the case when she sees a woman walking with the same lace that was left in Sherlock's hotel room. As she chases her down, Enola is stalled once again when the woman is shot. Before she dies, the woman warns Enola that her life is in danger.
Enola wastes no time in finding the gunman and is shocked to see that Professor Rathe is actually her former enemy, Moriarty (Duncan-Brewster). As fans of the franchise may remember, Moriarty battled Enola and Sherlock in the second movie but escaped from police.
Putting all the clues together, Enola figures out that Moriarty kidnapped Sherlock, but she still needs to find out why, and where he is. The two fight, and Enola's mother, Eudoria comes to the rescue and saves her before Moriarty vanishes.
How did Moriarty escape?
Moriarty, who is also known as Mira Troy, was the criminal mastermind in the second Enola Holmes film, but even after Sherlock and Enola got her locked up, she escaped police custody.
It's later revealed that Moriarty struck a deal with corrupt officers — one of whom was the soldier Enola found who was fatally shot.

Moriarty is hiding both Sherlock and Lady Tewkesbury in a cell, and both of the prisoners are trying to figure out why she's chosen them. As it turns out, the mysterious woman in lace was secretly working with Lady Tewkesbury and convinced her to have Enola's wedding in Malta.
While Moriarty is seeking revenge, she also expresses frustration with the Holmes family for their actions that she considers to be hypocritical and "corrupt." However, both Enola and Sherlock have a feeling that there's more to the story.
Enola and Lord Tewkesbury retrace their steps and realize that the war medal they found in the fire matched one his godfather owned. Upon meeting with the godfather, they learn that some British soldiers stole Afghan gold during the Battle of Khost. To cover up their crime, the soldiers sank a Maltese ship and claimed they got the gold from there.
The shocking admission leads Enola to believe that Moriarty is trying to both expose the Tewkesbury family's darkest secrets and find the gold for herself.
What happens to Moriarty?
After finding out that Moriarty actually did want her to find out about the treachery, Enola comes to the conclusion that she's been falling into all of Moriarty's traps.
Enola also realizes that Tewkesbury's family must have hidden the gold in Maltese cliff, because Tewkesbury previously told her stories about a treasure hidden there.
Enola heads to the cliff in hopes of catching Moriarty's eye, and she soon finds the villain in a dungeon with Sherlock and Lady Tewkesbury. After an intense faceoff, the three of them overpower Moriarty and turn her in.
Who gets the gold?
Even with Moriarty locked up for good, the Holmes' work isn't over.
Tewkesbury makes the bold decision to return the gold to Afghanistan and turn in everyone else involved in the crime — including his godfather.
Does Enola marry Lord Tewkesbury?

The end of the movie picks up where it started — Enola and Lord Tewkesbury's wedding. At their originally scheduled wedding, Enola was hesitant to marry him because of her brother's disapproval and the fear of giving up her freedom.
However, after everything they went through, Enola realizes that she can continue being a detective, and still marry Tewkesbury. The couple get married with Sherlock seemingly giving his nod of approval.
Since Tewkesbury gave up his title as a result of the scandal, Enola can also keep her last name.
