Amy Mickelson’s Health Today: Update
In 2009, Amy’s breast cancer diagnosis was revealed, and Phil put his golf career on hold. At the time, the golf world sent its prayers and well wishes to the Mickelsons, including Henry Hughes, the president of The Players Championship.
“It’s always difficult to hear news like this, but especially when it’s someone as young and vibrant, who works so hard for others through the charities she and Phil are involved with,” Henry said at the time, before adding, “But I’m sure Amy’s in good hands, and she has our hopes and prayers.”
Fortunately, Amy beat breast cancer and was in recovery by 2010. She battled the illness for less than a year and was declared cancer-free.
However, as of 2026, the Mickelsons are navigating another “family health matter,” a rep for Phil told Golf Digest. Phil also announced in a previous Instagram post that he would “not be able to participate in the first two LIV Events as Amy and I need to be present for a family health matter.” He added in his caption, “I can’t wait to compete again and look forward to rejoining my teammates as soon as possible.”
It’s still unclear who in the Mickelson family is dealing with a health issue.
