The Boys has officially come to a violent end, but fans can look forward to more of the Vought Cinematic Universe with the upcoming series Vought Rising. The show will be a prequel to The Boys and will follow Soldier Boy and Stormfront years before Homelander nearly brings his authoritarian regime to life.

What Will Vought Rising Be About?
Vought Rising will be a prequel to The Boys and will reintroduce Soldier Boy and Stormfront in their early days. Per Deadline, creator Eric Kripke and showrunner Paul Grellong told fans at the 2024 Comic-Con that the new series is “a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought.”
“We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V,” the collaborators told viewers at the time.
When Does Vought Rising Come Out? Projected Release Date
Vought Rising only has a confirmed 2027 release date. Prime Video has not announced a specific streaming date at the time of publication.
Since filming on the prequel series wrapped in March 2026, fans can expect the show to come out sometime in early to mid-2027 at the latest.
Who Is in the Vought Rising Cast?
The Boys OG cast members Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash will reprise their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively, in Vought Rising.
The rest of the main cast features Elizabeth Posey, Will Hochman, Mason Dye, Jorden Myrie, Nicolò Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri, Brian J. Smith and KiKi Layne.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ackles discussed how the prequel series will expand the Vought Cinematic Universe.
“It’s like saying ‘goodbye’ to The Boys, but I’m also doing the prequel to it, so it’s like my journey hasn’t necessarily come to an end,” the former Supernatural star said. “And I’m so thankful for being able to be a part of this and being able to work with these amazing people, and then continuing to grow the universe.”
When asked about Vought Rising, Ackles said it will “definitely feel like a different show,” but it still has the “foundation and the heart of what made The Boys.”
