- Steven McBee Jr. apologized for sending “cruel and degrading” texts to ex-girlfriend Allie Eklund, who posted the exchange on social media, after accusing her of cheating on him
- McBee admitted that his reaction was “wrong” and shared that he is addressing his behavior in therapy
- Eklund previously denied the allegations of infidelity and criticized McBee for “verbally abusing” her through their messages
Steven McBee Jr. is speaking out after his ex-girlfriend Allie Eklund publicly posted a series of explicit messages in which he accused her of cheating.
Two days after screenshots of texts between The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys star, 33, and Eklund, 29, showed him calling her names — including “slut,” “whore” and “hooker” — he apologized in a lengthy statement shared on Instagram.
“Early Monday morning, I was made aware of an incident involving someone I love deeply and I reacted out of absolute hurt and betrayal,” he wrote on Wednesday, April 29. “While there are other videos and details I will not be sharing out of respect, this context is not an excuse. What followed is my responsibility alone.”
“The texts I sent were cruel and degrading. No level of personal hurt and betrayal justifies the language I used, and I am ashamed of those messages. To anyone who has been on the receiving end of such words, I am truly sorry. I recognize that the criticism I am receiving is fair, and I am listening,” he continued.

“While I am absolutely devastated by the decisions and actions of someone I fully trusted and planned a life with, taking those frustrations and pain out on her with cruel and degrading words was wrong," he wrote. "I will not discuss the other details and videos I received; my focus remains entirely on my own actions.”
McBee went on to share that he is in therapy “to manage my emotions during high-intensity moments, and I am now taking advanced steps to ensure I react better when faced with adversity.”
“I have personal issues to address, and it was unfair to take them out on someone I love in a heated moment of shock and betrayal. I am taking the necessary time to complete my therapy and focus on self-reflection,” he added. “Breaking a familial cycle of bad habits, patterns and history starts with one person deciding to make a change and focus on breaking the cycle for the betterment of his or her own family – and I promise you with everything inside of me I plan on doing just that.”
The post concluded with McBee offering an additional apology “to anyone I have disrespected or spoken to harshly in business, friendships, or past relationships." "This has never been my intent, and I am committed to doing the work to be a better person. I am not asking for sympathy, but I am grateful to anyone willing to give me the chance to grow," he said. "Time to get to work.”

In the early hours of April 27, the reality star took to his Instagram Stories to reveal that he received a “random DM, two phone calls and a video” claiming that Eklund was unfaithful at the 2026 Stagecoach music festival. In a since-deleted video that same day, McBee alleged that Eklund was “hand-holding, grinding, dancing" in a "drunken stupor" at an afterparty.
She later denied his accusations and posted the full video in question, which showed her standing in a crowd with what she called “a group of long term friends.”
“This is really sad to see and I’m genuinely at a loss for words,” she wrote in part at the time. “Posting everything online before we talked is extremely disheartening and extremely unfair considering I’ve protected Steven many times during the course of our relationship.”
She continued, “I chose not to respond to him immediately because he has a history of verbally abusing me while he’s in a heightened emotional state and I felt it was more appropriate to have a private, level headed conversation once emotions had settled. Unfortunately, that opportunity wasn’t given to me before he decided to make this situation public and it’s even more disappointing that he made references to promote his tv show, as this situation is very real for me and my family, who prefer to live privately.”

The statement was followed by screenshots of her alleged text threads with McBee, who appeared to write, “What a hooker. Unreal. You want to be at every party hooking up with every guy possible. Have a good life f—ing slut.”
“You f—ing whore,” he then said after attaching the video.
Shortly after Eklund posted the exchange, McBee replied, acknowledging, “without a doubt I crashed out” and “said regrettable things.”
“But after ignoring my calls and only getting a ‘I’m still at this party’ response – with not enough respect to walk outside and answer my call to explain things, I had a crash out,” he continued.
