At the Cedar Hollow Ranch in Leakey, Texas, a mystery is afoot. A giraffe that answers to the name "Gracie" disappeared from the property on June 12, according to Fox 7 Austin — and unfortunately, finding her isn't as simple as just looking up.
According to a Facebook post shared by Real County Animal Rescue-Shelter, Gracie was still missing as of noon on June 22, and had last been seen ambling by a game camera west of Leakey.
Gracie is about 3 to 4 years old, her owner Vick Jones told NBC DFW, and roughly 10 to 11 feet tall. She's a reticulated giraffe, Jones told The New York Times and recently came to Cedar Hollow Ranch in May, where she lives alongside two other giraffes plus Nubian ibexes, impalas, and an antelope, per NBC.

In its post, the Real County agency shared an image of Gracie standing in dry soil and brush, towering above the surrounding green trees.
"The Cedar Hollow Ranch is missing a Giraffe named 'Gracie.' She has rounded ears. Last seen on a game camera west of Leakey. The owner is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the capture and safe return of Gracie the Giraffe," the "LOST GIRAFFE" post from the Real County Animal Rescue-Shelter reads.
The Cedar Hollow Ranch has housed giraffes for more than 30 years, Jones told The New York Times, and some, like Gracie, have also made daring escapes. Once, several male giraffes saw a gate left open and made a run for it, though an incoming storm prevented them from getting very far, he said.
After Gracie was sighted west of Leakey, Jones told NBC DFW that Gracie is likely traversing a series of private ranches in the area and has only gone about three miles from the edge of Cedar Hollow Ranch, where she escaped.
