Prince Harry blames King Charles’ note for brutal Invictus Games blow

Prince Harry reportedly blames Uganda’s brutal decision to withdraw from the 2027 Invictus Games on King Charles’ letter about his son and Meghan Markle’s royal status.

“Intended or unintended, this is clearly a consequence of the Lord Chamberlain’s guidance regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that was rushed out without consultation on Monday,” a Sussex source told ITV News on Wednesday, referring to the bombshell note.

“Sadly, the only people who will suffer are the Invictus Games competitors,” the insider added.

Page Six has reached out to reps for Harry and the Invictus Games for comment.

Charles’ letter, released on Monday by his lord chamberlain, clarified that Harry, 41, and Markle, 45, remain non-working royals, and are “private citizens with commercial and charitable interests,” despite their move back to the UK.

The note was was allegedly sent to the media without consulting the couple.

One day later, Uganda’s Chief of Defense Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, announced that the African country was pulling out of next year’s Invictus Games, set to take place in Birmingham, England.

“In order not to be construed as being opposed to His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom, whom we deeply revere, Uganda hereby withdraws from the Invictus games,” Kainerugaba, 52, wrote on X.

The military chief said that Uganda “shall not participate in anything that does not have [Charles’] approval.”

Additionally, Kainerugaba told The Times UK that he has “factions in the Ministry of Defense that support that Harry-Meghan nonsense,” so he “had to quash it straight away.”

“I support the monarch. Period,” he added.

Harry founded the Invictus Games — an international and multi-sport event for wounded, injured and sick military service personnel — in 2014.

Uganda was welcomed into the Invictus community at a ceremony in London in July, which Harry and other Ugandan leaders attended.

Harry and Markle have not publicly responded to Charles’ letter, but sources claimed the Sussexes are “frustrated” with how the 77-year-old monarch worded the “deliberate” note.

The couple, according to The Telegraph, prefer to be labeled as “public figures” instead of “private citizens with commercial and charitable interests.”

As Page Six previously reported, Harry and Markle arrived in England with their two kids — Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5 — two weeks ago.

News broke in August that they’d be relocating to Harry’s homeland from their Montecito, California, home, six years after they quit their royal duties and fled the UK.

Harry was seen at a London podcast studio on Monday, which marked his first public appearance since moving back across the pond.

Markle, meanwhile, broke cover to have tea with what looked to be a fellow mom in the Cotswolds, where the couple are allegedly house hunting.
