Oklahoma City Police are investigating whether a 15-year-old girl was used as a surrogate.
Investigators with Oklahoma City Police began investigating the case in December after responding to a call of a possible sexual assault of a then-14-year-old girl at an apartment complex in Oklahoma City, according to local news outlet KFOR.
The teen, who was not identified, was determined to have been pregnant with twins, according to a referral from Child Protective Services (CPS), according to court documents obtained by KFOR.
However, CPS also indicated that the alleged father of the teen’s twins may be her mother’s 36-year-old boyfriend.

When CPS spoke to the teen’s mother, she reportedly told them that her daughter “desperately wanted additional siblings.” She also said, per KFOR, that she had “wanted children with her current boyfriend,” but that wasn’t possible as her tubes are tied.
According to the court documents, per KFOR, the mother of the teen refused to allow her boyfriend to impregnate her daughter. However, it is unclear whether she allowed other methods, including surrogacy.
Police obtained a search warrant to collect DNA from the 36-year-old man to determine whether he was the father of the teen’s twins.
The teenager, who is due to give birth this month, was placed in protective custody. A second child was also placed in protective custody, according to the court documents, per KFOR.
