A North Carolina photographer was hired to shoot a couple’s wedding — but the gig got off to a rocky start.
Katie Hunt prepped for the job by ordering $250 worth of film rolls on Amazon. In a now-viral TikTok video, she revealed her “live reaction” to finding out that the film canisters were filled with rocks.
The clip shows Hunt’s second photographer approaching to tell her that she had found something unexpected inside the canisters. “You gave me rocks,” the colleague said, prompting Hunt to gasp in shock.
Hunt then proceeded to open the box that the film rolls came from and found that all of the other canisters inside were also filled with stones.
While laughing at the mishap, Hunt told her colleague, “I was just talking about how they never sell Portra 400 [a type of 35-millimeter color film by Kodak] on Amazon. I am screaming. I need to go review right now.”

Hunt took photos of the rock-filled canisters to include with her return of the film. Her colleague joked that she “low-key thought” Hunt was going to tell her that her kids stole her film canisters and put rocks in them.
“No, I just opened the package,” Hunt confirmed, before inspecting the film box to see whether it had been properly sealed.
“Wow,” she said of the botched order, adding, “All I can do is laugh.”
In the caption of the video, which has garnered more than 2.4 million views, Hunt wrote, “Thank God I had extra extra rolls of film other than this 😅. I have always bought porta from B&H but wanted to have extra for my next few weddings so I bought these from Amazon… lesson learned! Won’t be doing that again!”

“Check your film peeps 🫠,” she added.
Speaking with Storyful in an interview after the incident, Hunt shared that she doesn’t believe the rocks were the fault of the Amazon seller. “I am assuming it was someone who purchased the film and then returned it,” she said.

In a statement to PEOPLE, an Amazon spokesperson said, “We’ve made this right with the customer and will continue looking into this.”
Hunt shared an update on TikTok and revealed that Amazon called her and said they wanted to investigate the situation to figure out why it happened. She said the e-tailer also refunded her purchase.
In yet another update, Hunt shared that Amazon had sent her a free box of film.
