This year, I'm acquiring staples that don’t collect dust in the back of my closet after one wear — i.e. a capsule wardrobe.
First up, three items inspired by Oprah Winfrey’s most recent outfit repeat. Earlier this year, Oprah posted for the second time in an all light-brown ensemble consisting of a quarter-zip sweater, straight-leg jeans, and court-style sneakers. I appreciate that each piece is simplistic in design, while the monochromatic color scheme creates an effortlessly put-together look. Plus, thanks to their neutral palette, each piece can be mixed and matched with the rest of my closet.

Anrabess Oversized Quarter-Zip Sweater
I look at quarter-zips like the more exciting alternative to your run-of-the-mill crewneck sweaters. The simple addition of zipper detailing adds a preppy energy to the top. Similar to the one Oprah clearly favors, my find from Amazon has a silver zipper detail, a subtle collar, and long sleeves. One reviewer, who appreciated the oversized silhouette so much they bought multiple sweaters, wrote, “The sweaters are longer in the back and look great with leggings, covering the bottom.” If you’d prefer a more true-to-size fit, I recommend sizing down.
Sidefeel Straight-Leg Jeans

Usually, I go on and on about the dark-wash jeans I can’t stop rewearing, but I’m in the mood to add an equally wearable yet more adventurous addition to my denim collection. Inspired by Oprah, I took to Amazon to track down a reliable pair of light-brown (almost khaki-colored) jeans. This pair has patch pocket detailing, a two-button closure around the waistband, and straight-leg design. According to one shopper, the jeans offer, “plenty of stretch, while still having tummy control.”
Reebok Court Advance Sneaker

A polished sneaker that’s walkable is an integral part of a well-rounded wardrobe. Enter the court-style sneaker. This pair from Reebok reminds me of Oprah’s with its tan- and white- exterior and lace-up design. The shoes are also made for comfort thanks to the padded heel and tongue, plus cushioned insole.
