Michael Douglas is sharing a sweet excerpt from his upcoming memoir to celebrate his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones‘ birthday.
Douglas and Zeta-Jones share the same Sept. 25 birthday, and on Friday, the actor, who is now 82, celebrated his wife’s 57th birthday with a heartwarming Instagram post.
The actor reflects on his 25-year marriage to Zeta-Jones in his upcoming memoir, One Helluva Ride, which is set to be released on Oct. 6.
He shared an excerpt on Friday, writing, “I had never fallen in love on a movie screen before. Until I saw Catherine. She was magic, in a way that went beyond beauty. And I was certain, as much as I had ever been about anything, that she was the one.”
“It’s the kind of moment that only comes around once in your life, if you’re lucky. The one time that you know, without any doubt in your mind, that you’re meant to be with someone. Happy Birthday Catherine! I love you always and forever! ♥️ @catherinezetajones,” he added, sharing the message and book passage alongside a photo of the longtime couple.

Douglas’ post came after Zeta-Jones also marked the couple’s birthdays with a cute tribute on Instagram.
“Happy Birthday darling! A birthday kiss to my husband Michael, sharing this special day with you, is as special as the day itself. Love you😘😘,” Zeta-Jones captioned the post.
The post featured a snap of the pair sharing a kiss in tropical blue waters while wearing sunglasses.

“Happy happy Birthday to two of the greatest people I know…here’s to many more years filled with Love and Happiness 🩷🩵🤍 , Douglas’ eldest son Cameron Douglas, 47, whom he shares with ex-wife Diandra Luker, commented on the post.
Together, Michael and Zeta-Jones share daughter Carys Douglas, 23, and son Dylan Douglas, 26.
The couple — who first met at the Deauville Film Festival in 1998, before tying the knot in 2000 — celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Nov. 18 of last year, sharing sweet posts on Instagram at the time.

Zeta-Jones marked their silver wedding anniversary on Instagram by reflecting on their nuptials.
“25 years ago today, I walked down the aisle,” Jones wrote last November. “The intoxicating aroma of flowers, the glow of the candles, the resounding harmonious Welsh choir and you at the end of the long walk waiting for me, looking at me the way only you can. I love you today as I did then. Thank you sweetheart♥️.”

Douglas also shared an anniversary post of his own on Instagram, featuring a throwback photo of the couple. The pair could be seen posing with their arms around each other at an event.
“Happy 25th anniversary, my darling Catherine. Who knew?” the Wall Street star wrote in the post’s caption, adding, “All my love, Michael ❤️.”
