The ‘Pretty Little Liars’ alum gave a tour of her “moody” Spanish-style abode that “feels like a true extension of me”

Lucy Hale is unveiling her newly-renovated Los Angeles home that is a “true reflection” of the person she is today.
The actress, 37, opened the doors to her 1940s Spanish-style abode in a video tour with Architectural Digest published on Thursday, Sept. 17. Hale first purchased her “sanctuary” in 2019, two years after the end of the hit teen drama Pretty Little Liars, in which she portrayed one of the artsy liars, Aria Montgomery.
While the first iteration of her home reflected a “farmhouse-y” vibe, the star was ready for her space to match the person she’s grown into over the last transformative few years. Thus, she called on designers Ashley Drost and Marie Trohman of Proem Studio, whom she discovered after seeing their work in Emma Chamberlain’s “hippie modern” L.A. home.
“I wanted this house to be a true reflection of the woman I am today and the woman I’ve grown into, and they just picked it up right like that,” Hale says of the designers.
The end result was “three years in the making,” per the outlet, and saw Hale’s home completely transformed into a “moody, femme” oasis featuring crystals and tarot cards.
“This house has been very healing for me. I have had heartbreak in this home. I got sober in this home. It feels very divine for me to be living here at this specific moment,” says Hale, who began her sobriety journey in 2022.
Not only does the space now embody who she is — especially with walls adorned with deep color that she’s been craving for years — it’s also filled with sentimental gems that are unique to her family.
One hallway features a wall of old photographs of her ancestors, alongside newer images of her immediate family members.

In her media room, the Memphis, Tenn., native has many nods to music legend Elvis Presley, including an Elvis lamp and a framed autograph from the musician that belonged to her grandmother. One of her dogs is also named after the “Burning Love” singer.
Perhaps the most special item in her home is a piece of furniture in her living room: “a white chair that I call ‘Dad’s chair.’ It’s where I sit to feel close to him,” she tells AD. Hale shared a heartfelt social media tribute to her dad Preston in July, announcing the news of his sudden death and highlighting the kind person he was.

While the space keeps her connected to her family, it also reminds her of how far she’s come. Hale says she expects this version of her home to grow with her over the next few years as she continues to embrace the unknown.
“It feels like a true extension of me,” Hale says. “This house is helping support the woman I am today, but also who I’m going to be in the future. And I don’t know if this is the house I’ll be in forever, but I definitely know I will always own this house.”
