Jennifer Lopez is making a return to her rom-com roots with the upcoming premiere of Office Romance. Ahead of the movie’s debut, the actress and her “No. 1” on-screen love interest, Brett Goldstein, have been out and about.
It was at a speed-dating event in New York City that Lopez inspired my next must-have outfit combination. The star paired a silky maxi skirt with a collared cardigan, then accessorized with clear heels and a quilted bag. Her ensemble reminded me that long skirts, a style we’ve also seen on Katie Holmes and Zendaya, are an airier alternative to jeans.

That being said, I appreciate that this find doesn’t have a daring slit on the side like hers, which makes it more appropriate for the office and family events. One shopper’s biggest praise of the skirt was that “it still looked great 14 hours later” and “didn’t wrinkle” following them “sitting in the car for over an hour,” as well as an entire workday.

I also love the addition of a collar on a cardigan, as it’s a subtle way to add interest to a more basic top.
